Aren't they the worst?
When everything sits quiet
Just you and the void
An everlasting silence
Not a sound, not a noise
It's a quiet that lasts forever
Now forevers pretty long
But the silence lasts a long time
When you're sitting all alone
It's a subtle creeping feeling
That dwindles in your heart
A soft piercing panning
A pain that doesn't start
The kind that simply bounds
Out of the dreary mist
One that creeps so subtly
A kind you cannot miss
I try to sleep those nights
Let sandman close my eyes
Watching hours crawling slowly
Waiting for the sun to rise
But when the night is over
And over it will be
I hope I'll share that moment
And you'll share that one with me
