Rin's Friend (Rin Matsuoka x Reader)

Coach Sasabe started laughing happily. "Last time I saw you two you we're four feet high." He exclaimed. The two of us laughed a bit.

"It has been a while." I said to him. Mako smiled and nodded. Coach Sasabe sat down on his cart like thing. I couldn't believe after a few years we would see him again, and at the old swim club.

"Yeah things have changed for me too." he said patting on his cart. It had said 'Pizza Boy' on it. "I'm a pizza delivery guy now." he said smiling. He looked at the two of us. " So tell me, did you guys come here one last time to gander at the old haunt?" he asked. I nodded, while Mako talked.

"Isn't that why you're here?" Mako asked jokingly. I smiled and looked at the torn down building.

"I just pasted a deliver and thought why not, what about the rest of your crew? How are they doing?" He asked us.

"Great. We go to the same school as Haru and Nagisa actually." Mako explained

"But Haru is still Haru, and Nagisa is stil his energetic self." I said leaning on Mako and with a smirk on my face. Coach started laughing at that.

"I'm sure they are. What about Rin? You still friends?" We both were saddened by the question. I wasn't sure if I should be sad about it though. He was getting on my nerves lately, but I'll probably end up talking to him again. I stood up straight now and looked down.

"What do you mean hard on himself?" I heard Mako ask. I guess I zoned out, but I paid attention to the conversation again. Coach seemed surprised by his reaction.

"Wait a second, are you saying Haruka never told you the story?" we were both in shock. Haru did meet Rin before a few days ago. I looked away in anger. 'Lying Bastard!' I full of mixed emotions right now that I decided to step away for a while. I leaned on the wall and slid down, putting my head in between my legs. I could partially hear their conversation still. "I think it was during the winter break of your first year of middle school. I was closing down the place for the year when Haru and Rin  showed up out of the blue asking for a little pool time." Coach explained. He continued. "They must've in to each other  while Rin was back from Australia." I felt heat under my cheeks and something sink into my leg. I lifted my head and felt myself crying.

"Why did they meet up at the club, so they could race each other?" Mako had asked. I turned my face away from them and nuzzled my head. Coach scoffed.

"Yeah, if you call that a race. Haru smoked him, it wasn't even close. Needless to say, Rin looked pretty upset. Not that anyone could blame him, I mean he studied swimming at a prestigious school over seas. And it still didn't make a difference." Coach said sadly. I wiped my tears, and headed back over to Mako. I rested my head on his arm with my head down. "Something wrong you guys?" Coach asked worriedly. Mako patted my back gently.

"We're fine." He gave me a small hug, and we waved goodbye to Coach Sasabe. I was a little tired, but we stopped at little over look. A car passed by, and Mako was on the phone with someone.

*Rin POV*

I covered my face in annoyance. Why won't she speak to me already? I couldn't believe she blocked Nitori's number as well. I all of a sudden heard my phone ringing. I relaxed a bit more and listened to the voice mail.

 "Rin? It's me, Makoto. We're starting a swim club." I heard a gasp on the other line, but I didn't pay that much attention to it. " Me, Haru, and Nagisa. You should join your schools team, it'll be just like the old days. Who knows, we might have a chance to swim with each other at a tournament." I scoffed.

"Like I don't know that's a possibility. I've already decided to join the swim team." I said out loud. I was thinking about how (Y/n) would react. I was worried she would neglect me even more after I do, which I hope isn't the case. I kept talking out loud. "But news flash, I'm not doing this to get a chance to swim with you guys." I turned around and tried to get some sleep.

*(Y/n) POV*

It was the next day and the six of us were celebrating the opening of the swim club. We were in a circle with a cup full of a drink.

"Alrighty, Congratulations on the swim club being approved." Mrs.A said happily. We all cheered 'Here's to the swim club.' and took a drink. "Its not quite warm enough to start swimming yet, but we went a head and filled the pool with water as a test run." Haru's face lit up with joy and I giggled at that. We all had one tablet in our hands. "After we toss these in, we're all set." We looked at the tablets like they were a treasure. We tossed them in simultaneously. Nagisa was bursting with joy.

"Looks like the swim club is officially official." Nagisa exclaimed. I went over and put my arm around his shoulder with a smile on my face.

"Its just to bad we cant get in the pool yet..." he was cut short by some clothing shuffling. I looked over to see Haru undressing into his swimsuit, but I saw Gou fangirl as well. "Haru?! You're in your swimsuit?!" Mako asked bewildered.

"With triceps like those, I say he does whatever he pleases." Gou said out loud I started laughing along with Nagisa.

"What has gotten into you?!" He asked Gou. I looked at Haru relaxing in the water. "Haru, get out of there, it's too cold!" Mako said worriedly.

"We don't see a problem he looks comfortable to me. Right (Y/n)?" he asked innocently. I nodded and watched him float there. Gou agreed with us as well.

"Wait! Are his lips turning purple?!" Gou asked worriedly. Haru went under the water and swam away from us.

"Haru, get out of the water, you'll get hypothermia!" Mako said like a worrying mother. I laughed at how worried they were for Haru. Nagisa was encouraging him, but Mako shouted "no come back, you'll die." unitl Gou said she was going to find a net to fish him out. We looked at her surprised.

"Wait! A NET!" we said shocked, but Nagisa and I laughed. I was going to be a fun year.
