Rin's Friend (Rin Matsuoka x Reader)

Another What?!

"A-a-achoo!" Haru sneezed. I was leaning my back on his and turned my head to look at him. We were sitting in Haru's house just hanging out, but Haru ended up getting a cold because he jumped into the pool when it's still cold out. He had a towel on his head and kept sniffling.

"That sounds bad." Nagisa said to us. We were reading magazines, but Mako pulled out some tissues.

"Are you okay Haru?" he asked kindly. I turned around and gave him a hug from behind, with my head resting on his shoulder. He groaned.

"I know what grandma would've said about this, she would've told me I'm sneezing because somebody is talking about me." I smiled. His grandma cared for him deeply, and after she died I know Haru was hurting, but he didn't show any emotion. Mako got closer and put the tissues near Haru, so he could grab one.

"It must be Rin who is talking about you." Nagisa suggested. I grimaced and hugged Haru tighter. He gasped as well to what Nagisa said.

"It also may be he's sick, after all you decided to go swimming in April." Mako said. Haru pouted at looked at Mako.

"I'm not some baby who gets sick from a-achoo!" Haru sneezed again causing the tea on the table to shake. I giggled. He looked at me with a small glare. I only smiled at him, but Haru rolled his eyes and looked at Mako again.

"It's not warm enough to swim outdoors yet, we'll have to hit the gym until the weather gets better." Mako explained. I moved to sit next to Nagisa. He seemed to have remembered something.

"Hey, guess what I heard from Gou. She told me that Rin just joined the Samezuka swim team." I flinched a little. He just joined? I have to pay attention to more conversations. Why wouldn't he be apart of the team already, I mean, he practiced in another country and finally beat Haru. Mako was also pretty surprised that Nagisa had asked him if something was wrong. He told Nagisa not to worry about it with a smile.

"Since he's on a team now, we might have a chance of seeing him at a tournament." Mako pointed out. Nagisa was excited to hear that.

"Well, let's sign up for one already!" he said happily. I smiled at how energetic he can be. "We could totally dominate the relays."

"You know I only swim freestyle." Haru said without looking up from the magazine. Nagisa looked distraught.

"Are you telling us that you don't do realys anymore?!" Nagisa inched closer to Haru and started begging Haru. "Haru, please tell me that's not true. Please, just swim with us." Nagisa was bowing down behind Haru. Haru looked unfazed by what Nagisa was doing, he started to talk.

"Besides, we cant enter the relays because we have three people." he said nonchantly. Nagisa froze and so did I. They needed another member!? I put my head down in frustration.

"What? That means..." Nagisa stood up and put his hands on the sides of his head. " Does that mean we to have to find another swimmer to join our team?!" he said shocked. I lifted my head. I rested my head on my hand with my elbow on the table.

"Don't worry Nagisa I'll help you find one." I said in a bored tone, but Nagisa pouted and whined. Why did it have to be four swimmers?!

I was standing in front of Nagisa on the train while he zoned out. I didn't, but decided to look out the window. 'Should I start talking to Rin again?  I don't know anymore, he lied to me, Haru lied to me, the swim club needs another swimmer. I'll deal with him after we settle the issue for the swim club.' I thought to myself. I looked next to me to see the blue haired boy Nagisa was talking to the day we went looking for our fourth member. He was reading a book for physical training.

"You're Ryugazaki, right?" I asked him. He glanced at me from the corner of his eye.

"Yes, and you are?" he asked in a proper tone. He looked back his book.

"I'm (Y/n) Tachibana." I said with a smile. He nodded, but continued to read. Nagisa just noticed me talking to him.

"Ryugazaki?" He asked surprised. I saw him glance at Nagisa, then back to his book. "I had no idea you took the train." All he said was 'ah'. Nagisa continued to talk to him though. "It's a good thing we into each other because we have an awesome opportunity just for you." He said until Ryugazaki spoke.

"I have no interest in being recruited." He said still looking at his book. I was majorly confused to how he knew we were going to ask.

"Wait, how did you know he was going to ask that?" I questioned the blue haired male. He was still looking at his book.

"It fairly obvious what you two are after." Nagisa and I tilted our heads slightly. "All I had to do was look at you little goodie bag, it's filled to the brim with posters and of course those ridiculous mascots you plan on handing out." We both looked at the bag surprised. I saw Ryugazaki let go and fix his backpack. "But that isn't why I said no. Apologies, but my heart belongs to track and field, Good day." He walked to the exit of the train and stepped off.

"Hey, we still have one more stop before school." Nagisa leaning over to see him run off. The doors shut, but Nagisa was watching out the window. I saw him looking intently at something out there. I suddenly saw Ryugazaki running the rest of the way to school. I looked at Nagisa and he looked like a stalker, so I grabbed his ear and made him sit down again. "Owww, (Y/n)! What was that for?!" He asked holding his ear. I put a hand on my hip, and he sighed.

~Time skip~

We just arrived to the school, but Gou texted us to meet at the swim club.

"So, (Y/n)? Have you talked to Rin?" Nagisa asked cautiously. I was shocked, everyone keeps asking me if I've talked to him. I mean I have, but I don't want to feel like I'm special or something. I sighed.

"No he treats me like you guys." I lied. Nagisa sighed, but he went in the building. I was about to, but I saw Haru crouched and looking into the water. I walked over and sat next to him on my knees. Haru suddenly sneezed again, but had a sad look in his eyes.

"All I wanna do is swim." Haru said sadly. I smiled slightly at the water fanatic. We watched some of the cherry blossom leaves fall into the pool. We heard Nagisa shout out loud, so the two of us went to go see what the fuss was about.
