Rin's Friend (Rin Matsuoka x Reader)

*(Y/n) POV*

I fixed my hair in to a quick ponytail and put some mascara with some lipstick before rushing out of the bathroom to my room to get a few things. I heard the steps creaking and started to rush even more. "I know, I know. Just a second!" I shouted slightly as I grabbed the last thing I needed and went to open my door, to only run into Rin who was about to knock.

I was panting slightly and felt some sweat on my forehead, but it seemed Rin was distracted. He shook his head and coughed before stepping back to let me pass. I sighed and walked past him and down the steps. "I'll be back later Mako. Let mom know I'm not going to be here for dinner." I said loudly before stepping outside. Rin stepped out behind me shutting the door behind him. I stopped and waited for him to lead the way. I finally got a good look at his outfit.

It was a red flannel over a blue tee shirt with a pair of jeans and sneakers. His sleeves from the flannel were rolled up to his elbows. He looked around before shrugging. "See something?" I shook my head and smiled.

"Nope, nothing but a shark out of water." I smirked at my corny joke.

He rolled his eyes and walked past me. "Like I haven't heard that one before. Let's go." I quickly followed after him and grabbed his arm like it was nothing. He tensed slightly but relaxed and put his hands into his pockets. We kept walking for a while before I looked at him and it looked like he was planning something. I tilted my head curiously, and Rin gave me a side glance before smirking. "What?" I asked.

He suddenly bolted forward and kept running. I gasped and followed after him, trying to catch him. He would looked behind him a couple of times and he eventually stopped. I stopped near him and panted heavily with my hands on my knees.

He was taking a couple of quick breaths, but seemed amused by my tired state. I looked at him and slapped his arm. He rubbed his arm before grabbing my hand before bringing me into a restaurant. I looked around in the inside and was impressed, with some plants hanging her and there and a deck full of tables with a beautiful view of the ocean. I would have to bring Haru here sometime.

Rin walked up to this pedestal where a woman stood and looked over a list. She looked up and looked like she was already infatuated with Rin. Her face turned a light red, but she blinked and put on a friendly smile. "Hello, do you have a reservation?" She asked politely. Rin moved his hand to my waist and nodded.

"Under Matsuoka." He said to her. The woman's forced smile made it look like she was trying to make her teeth break. She laughed and grabbed two menus.

"Right this way." Rin looked at me before he started following her. I kept looking around seeing some couples sitting at booths and tables on the inside, but we walked outside and the ocean breeze flew my hair around a bit causing me to look out and see the sun starting to set.

So mesmerized, I got out of Rin's grip and ran to the railing to get a closer look. The breeze was hitting my face and I took a deep breath. "Come on (Y/n)." I turned around having my hair to go around my neck. His eyes widened and he just stared at me again. I tilted my head and chuckled. He blinked and his face turned red before he looked down and walked to the table.

I followed after and looked at the table. I pulled my chair out and sat down, and Rin did the same. Menus were placed in front of us and the woman forced another smile. "One of our servers should be coming soon, please enjoy." She walked away, but her hand lightly touched Rin's shoulder causing him to flinch away. I looked down and felt slightly jealous. Rin shivered audibly and chuckled. I looked at him and smiled.

"So, finally swimming again? I was really looking forward to seeing you dive." He said to me. I felt really shy, but nodded quietly. He rested his head on his hand and looked at me. "This is going to be a boring date if you don't talk." He said nonchalantly. My eyes widened and I looked at him.

"Date?" He smirked and nodded, but a server had just walked over.

~Time skip~

After getting such a big meal, we left the restaurant (with the woman giving her number to Rin) and started walking to the beach. We slipped our shoes off and left them at the platform while we walked on the beach. Rin sighed and looked at the sky. "Man I'm stuffed. I feel like I can't eat anymore." He joked. I chuckled and nodded.

"Yeah, me too. Thank you for tonight Rin." I said to him with a closed eye smile. He was silent for a couple of seconds before he grabbed my hand again. I tensed and hesitated on grabbing his hand back, but I did and got closer to him.

I rested my head on his shoulder as we walked and I smiled. "Was this really a date Rin?" I asked just to be sure. He stopped walking and coughed slightly before rubbing the back of his neck.

"If you're okay with it." He said shyly. My eyes widened again, but I chuckled and started laughing. "H-hey! What's so funny?!" He stuttered out annoyedly. I stopped and gave him a hug. He seemed surprised at first, but tightly embraced me.

"I perfectly fine with it." I said as I felt the comfort of his warmth. I suddenly moved my hands to tickle his sides, have him grunt and grab his sides backing away from me. He lifted his gaze with and irritated look before jumping at me. I screamed playfully before running away. After a couple of minutes I felt Rin's arms wrap around my waist and swinging me around.

I screamed and laughed like a small child before he put me down and I faced him giggling a bit. He was laughing too, but it turned into a slight chuckle. We stared into each other's eyes and I start to admired his red eyes too much I started leaning in. His cheeks turned pink and he shut his eyes leaning in.

Our lips met each other and I wrapped my arms around his neck. He wrapped his arms around my waist. This kiss we shared was so intense with emotions, I wasn't going to forget this feeling anytime soon. This date couldn't have gone any better!
