Chapter 2-  Silver

It didn’t take long for the expected people to arrive at the beach. I was actually surprised by the fact that just about everyone that showed up was human, and there were quite a number in the group. Guess I need to get out more. Cindy later on informed me that a lot of people just crash get-togethers like these, mostly because of the drinks and “goodies” as she called them. She also introduced me to some of her pack members and friends. They weren’t bad company, just wasn’t use to talking to so many people is all. My wolf growled in frustration. She never really like crowded areas especially with other wolfs present and I agreed with her there. Now I’m starting to wonder why I agreed to come. Anyways, like I said they weren’t that bad, better than John that’s for sure. Speaking of John, him and his cousin seemed to just have stuck together. To each their own. I wouldn’t even bother noticing if it wasn’t for the glances they throw my way every now and then. Not really from John but from his cousin. I turn my attention back to the brunette who is happily chatting away.

“So, how do you like it so far? I mean the shore of course. The pier has lots. Maybe we….” I drone Cindy out, just nodding every now and then. I don’t mind the company but this girl sure can talk. Call me an ass; I don’t care its true. I tune her back on only to catch her midsentence.

“I’m sorry come again?” She looks at me skeptically. Think she might have caught on, woops.

“I said I was gonna go get a drink, you want anything?” she asks me while standing up from the log we were sitting on.

I shake my head slightly, “No thank you.” she then walks away leaving me to my thoughts.

“What a drag.” I mumble to myself. I might never see her again but that doesn’t mean I want her thinking I’m a complete jerk. Thinking of all the people I have left in my life forms a frown on my face as I think back to that day.

Flashback

I feel my body heating up; my bones feel like they are snapping in half.

“Its ok baby, just breathe.” I hear my mother tell me, rubbing soothing circles on my back as the long process of my first transformation takes place. My father kindly smiling down at me, pride evident in his eyes at the fact that his daughter shifted at such a young age.

I had always thought my mother would be there for me threw anything, but I guess it was all an act, because the moment I felt like everything was finally in place, it all came crumbling down…

I feel my body finally relax. The heat subdues to a tolerable temperature and my bones finally stop aching. I open my eyes to see the world in a totally new and amazing way. Every color, every smell, intensified 10 fold, it was the best feeling anyone can have. I try to stand up only to fall down on my belly. I hear myself growl softly trying to get up again. After a few tries I can finally walk around. I notice that my mother and father had yet to say a word. As I turn to look at her I saw something in their eyes that at the time I didn’t quite understand. Disgust and something I would grow to see a lot of, fear.

End of Flashback.

I feel my fist clench as the memories rush back up. What I didn’t know then was that I’d be losing everything that day. They left you not the other way around Abaddon. My wolf was becoming restless, howling in anger at my thoughts. She didn’t like the feeling of being vulnerable to the past, and I can’t blame her. I didn’t exactly like it either.
