teaching kids about "mature" things if you wanna call it that.

TW: Mentions of r*pe, su*cide, abuse, and mental health

--
Why is this even a thing honestly. In school systems (at least where I live), kids are not taught about things like consent, rape, how to deal with stuff, suicide, etc until they are in like grade 7 or eight ..aka 13-14 years old.

I don't even know where to start but okay...here we go...

Want to know why many young kids are usually the victims of serious crimes? Everywhere on the mainstream media, you see headlines like "7 year old child kidnapped" or "11 year old kid sexually assaulted" etc, etc.

If you TAUGHT these kids some stuff, like how to not follow a stranger when they say to, or when to call the cops and stuff, then crimes and assaults on children would be reduced greatly.

Next, mental health and suicide. Most kids are just brushed on by the subject of mental health in general. Kids these days are sometimes TERRIFIED to go to someone for help resulting in them either being in a very bad state or sadly...committing suicide. If the system taught kids how to deal with stress, pressure, or whatever at a young age, or just TAUGHT what those things are, than teen and child suicide rates would lower.

And that also ties in with the subject of abuse. Sadly, abuse in families or domestic violence is seriously not that rare nowadays. If at a young age you teach the kids what it is, what to do, and how to report it, just think of the impact it would make. Scientists say that children who grow up in abusive homes usually grow up to be abusive. If you stop the abuse at an early stage in life, than honestly the world would change.

"b-but imagine how hurt they will be and imagine how they will feel".

So what? Look, stuff like this is not censored in real life. If you raise these kids like they are babies all their childhood, then when they have to go out and face the real world, the damage will already be done.

If you want someone to learn and do something, you have to teach them first.
