Dowry is actually so fcking stupid.
To those of you who don't know what dowry is, it's basically an amount of property or money brought by a wife to their husband on their wedding.
It is most commonly used in south Asian wedding rituals.
Women do not exist to heal men. Women do not exist to clean after men. Women do not exist to take care of a man. Women do not exist to babysit a man. Women do not exist for men.
Women don't have a responsibility of them but people are acting otherwise. According to the logic of dowry supporters (I guess if you wanna call them that), women should be happy to even BE married at all.
They're acting like "uwu these men should get money and property from his wife who's probably less fortunate than him just because he's going to be stuck with her for the rest of his life"
Like no.
YOU were the one to ask her to marry you. YOU were the one who who made the choice for getting married or not. Now YOU say your life is over now that you have a wife. Then YOU demand money from her to "ease your sufferings." Idc if it's a tradition or whatever. If I ever marry someone and they demand dowry from me, guess who's calling off the marriage🤷🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️. Money is not the point of marrying someone. Devoting your entire LIFE to someone. Smh.
