•Mai's POV•
It's been six months since me and Yumi have started working for Naru huh time sure does fly.
"It's getting chilly, winter is setting in"- I was looking out the window, I'd finished cleaning around the office a few minutes ago, I see people coming and going. I was waiting for Yumi to get here she had gone to meet some friends after school to help with school work probably.
I was pulled out of my thoughts as Naru called my name and for a cup of tea.
I got out and prepared the tea while I waited I thought on how Naru never goes out or does things normal teens would be doing, he's always reading books on the supernatural or paranormal and always seems to be researching on something. The tea was ready so I took it to Naru's office.
"The tea's ready, here you go"- I said as I place the cup of tea in front of him. Sensing I was still there he looked up.
"Can I help you with something?"-Naru
Annoyed with his response I stormed out of his office, "I know I'm his assistant but would it kill him to say thank you". As those words left my mouth Yumi walked in she probably heard me complain, "hey, what's got you so worked up" she said letting a small chuckle out.
"Hey how'd it go with the girls, and you know just Naru having no manners" I said annoyed. "It was fine I lent the girls the notes for the English test, I swear if they don't start studying more they will fail that class, and what did you expect it's Naru after all".
•Yumi's POV•
I arrived and entered the building I heard Mai talking to herself complaining about something, probably Naru. We said our hellos and she explained what happened.
"I know how he is but would it kill him to have some manners"-Mai asked I just shrugged as a response.
I walked over to the couch and sat down taking some homework to work on as we talked. "Well changing the subject, guess what Yuki told me".
"What?"-Mai
"So you know her boyfriend Akira, well they went on a date to this park over the weekend. She told me that as they were walking out of nowhere water was splashed on them"
"Water balloons?"
"I know I thought that too I asked if it wasn't just some kids playing a joke on them but she told me there wasn't anyone else around but them"
"Weird."
"Yeah she seemed pretty freaked out as well".
•No POV•
Someone started knocking so Mai got up and opened the door it was Masako.
"Hey Masako, long time no see"-Mai
"Is Naru here?"-Masasko
'Well hi to you too'-Mai thought annoyed
"Sorry I just decided to drop by because I came across a case that Naru might like"-Masako
"So what is it that you wanted to talk about?"-Naru
"A friend from the tv station has requested your help, apparently there is a strange phenomenon that's interfering with the filming of a new show."-Masako
"There have been 100 of cases documented about spirits appearing inside film studios"-Naru
"That's just it, they haven't shot anything in the studio. It's at the park, every time they shoot there without fail the actors or suddenly doused in water"-Masako
"Hey that's what happened to Yuki"-Yumi
"Yeah"-Mai
"So you've heard of it, actually a number of these accidents have been reported lately. The first being filed around 6 months ago"-Masako
"Sounds to me like kids having some fun"-Naru
"I thought so too at first but if this really is just a practical joke there would be some type of evidence, but the only evidence is the wet clothes of the victims. This case is a mystery"-Masako
"The culprit wouldn't need to be nearby"-Naru
"That's what I told the director yesterday. That's everything I know, so what do you recommend Naru?"-Masako
"I think that if they are concerned with their safety they should either change location or halt the filming all together."-Naru
"The script asks for that specific park and shutting down production would cost thousands of dollars"-Masako
"That's none of my concern"-Naru
"Wait, look I owe the director a favor so I would like to find a way for this to work out somehow, you can understand that, right Naru.
'Good luck trying to get Naru to take that, we all know he only takes cases he wants'-Mai thought
"Which park is it?"-Naru
'Huh would you look at that'-Yumi thought amused
'Huh?!? Say what??'-Mai thought
*Later*
"So seems like Naru is taking the case, huh"-Yumi
"Yea I'm still surprised tho"-Mai
"Well I don't think I can make it"-Yumi
"Huh? Why not?"-Mai
"I wanna get a start on some homework plus I wanna check on the girls and how their studying is going they are probably goofing off, I'll ask Naru for the day off"-Yumi
"Oh, but can't you do that any other day?"-Mai
"I guess but I would like to do it as soon as possible and get it over with you know, and plus it seems like this case is no biggy and you'll guys solve it pretty quickly"-Yumi
"Yeah, but you'll miss John, you know since Naru called Monk and the rest of them"-Mai teased
"Yea yea I think I can miss a day of not seeing them, there are still a bunch of cases to come"-Yumi
"True, true"-Mai
"Well I'm going to ask Naru for that day off"-Yumi
"Alright"-Mai
*knock*knock
"Come in"-Naru
"Hey"-Yumi
"Can I help you with something?"-Naru
"Yea I wanted to ask if I could have the day of tomorrow"-Yumi
"Any particular reason?"-Naru
"Need to do some school work as well as helping other classmates"-Yumi
"You will miss the case tomorrow"-Naru
"I'm aware"-Yumi
"Very well, you can have tomorrow off."-Naru
"Thank you"-Yumi
All she got from Naru was a hm for a reaponse.
"Well then it's gotten pretty late, I'm heading home now"-Yumi
"Alright, goodnight"-Mai
"Goodnight"-Yumi
