November, Sunday*Mai's POV*
"Are you taking a break, Naru? would you like a cup of tea?"- I asked Naru
"Sure"-Naru
"Hey Naru somethings been bothering me"
"So"-Naru
"SO? Shouldn't you be asking what's the matter or something like that?''
'You're expecting too much from him if you think that's gonna happen'-Yumi told me telepathically who had been sitting at her desk working on some homework.
'Oh you shut up'- I said back which she only laughed as a response
"Unfortunately unless its something work-related, I don't really have time or care for"-Naru
'You egotistical workaholic' I thought as I directed a glare at Naru
"Actually it is. You remember the story a high school student told you about her classmate being possessed by a fox spirit"
"I probably remember it better than you"-Naru
"I'm sure you do! Since you're the one who rejected her and told her "bring your friend to a psychiatric hospital" instead of visiting our office!"-I yelled at him
_Flashback_
"Last month I was watching some of our friends perform kokkuri-san. But shortly after, the friend I was with started acting very strange. During class, she jumped up onto a desk and in P.E Class she started eating sand in the track field so we wondered if a fox had possessed her."
_End of flashback_
"I gave her the recommendation I did because it sounded like something a doctor should check out.''-Naru
"Well you could have said it a bit more politely, you know? You could have at least referred her to someone or something"
*Yumi's POV*
As I finished my homework I put it away, Mai and Naru kept arguing, although it was mostly just Mai yelling at Naru. I sat watching them amused. All of sudden heard someone approach and come in.
"Knock Knock, hey Naru what's up"-Monk
After quickly realizing it was Monk I thought 'whats with the outfit'
*No POV*
"Uhh, who are you?'-Mai
"Man let me tell you coming to Shibuya on a Sunday is crazy. Mai be a sweetheart and get me an ice coffee"-Monk
"No way, Monk?"-Mai
"What?the outfit? I had a live show today. I gotta admit I love being in front of a crowd. I was called in last minute due to someone not being able to sing a note."-Monk
"You used to be in a band?''- Yumi
"I didn't use to, its my main gig. I play bass"-Monk
"But how can you work at Mt.Kyoya and be in a band? Are you just a monk on the side?"-Mai
"Kind of. the temple belongs to my family and my dad really wanted me to be a monk, but when I couldn't bring my CD's and stuff up there I had to make a choice"-Monk
"Ohh''
"You know I see a lot of curses in rock and roll, more than you'd imagine. So whenever something happens and an exorcism is needed they call me since I'm already in the biz, ya see?"-Monk
"uhuh"-Mai
"I get it"
'I guess you never really know people. although in Monk's case its harder to believe he's a monk than a rocker.'- Mai thought
