It was a Saturday, so no school but that didn't change the fact that I still had work. I quickly ran up the stairs to the office.
"Sorry I'm late!"- I yelled out
"You're late. Make me some tea."-Naru
'That's why I just apologized'-I thought annoyed.
"That's how you treat me first thing in the morning? Have you ever considered making tea for yourself? You act like a grumpy old man"- I mumbled to myself as I set me bag down.
"Then what am I paying a part-timer for?"-Naru
"Yeah, yeah, you're right boss. By the way, I guess Lin is stuck in the research room, huh?"
'My lukewarm relationship with Lin is the same as always. It's funny, Lin always seems frightened for a second whenever he sees me, I have no idea why.'
I headed to the kitchen to make the tea and found Yumi there, sipping on some coffee.
"Hey"
"Hey"-Yumi
"I see you're here on time"
"I see you're late again"-Yumi
I let out a small chuckle "oh come on, not you too, I already have enough with Naru."
"Don't take it to heart but you don't live that far away, although with how much you sleep I can see why"-Yumi
"Hey! What's that supposed to mean?"
She gave me a knowing look, which I didn't argue with, it's true anyways my sleep is so deep that even my alarm can't help.
I got the tea ready and we both headed back out.
"They were in today's newspaper again. The article about Ryokuyou High School"-Naru
'Everyone's been talking about it lately. Apparently there's been a lot of psychic activity happening there. The first newspaper article was about a group of students who refused to come to the school, apparently because they saw "ghost in a classroom". Ever since then, the school has continued to have strange phenomena. And almost everyday you can find a story about them in the newspapers or on tv.
"Oh yeah, this one"- Yumi said as she handed Mai the newspaper.
The headline read "Is it just mass hysteria? Another strange incident at high school".
"It says here that some of the students started to panic because a dog bit them during class. The teacher claimed that he didn't see a dog but the students indeed had injuries. Why did you turn down his request? You should've helped them."- I asked Naru after I finished reading the paper.
"I try to avoid cases that may potentially attract mass media"-Naru
"Eh? Why? This could help us become famous, then SPR would have many more clients—" I was cut short as someone entered the office.
