Spot 16- Veridian Payne

Name: Veridian Payne

Occupation: Veridian is currently a brand new college freshman. She works at a small bakery and manages to volunteer at a nearby library on occasion.

Physical Appearance: She prefers not to show her face and covers it with long strands of jet black hair that she doesn't bother to brush out of her face. Her eyes are hazel, with her right eye having blotches of cerulean due to her odd case of heterochromia, and are enough to have someone enveloped in them, yet she turns away once eye contact is made. Her nose starts off slender but rounds off at the end, and just below it are small, plump lips to compliment her rosy cheeks that tend to get red often. Veridian's hair also tends to do what it wants so she will only brush it around two times a day and often finds it tangles. This shy girl's olive skin is relatively clear aside from the fact that she often finds herself getting hurt and having to smother them in band-aids and the many bruises she has along her body. She is of average height standing at 5'4 and enjoys wearing pleated skirts and cute outfits that make her feel "safe".

Personality: Anxiety is a lingering factor of Veridian's life. She finds herself unable to function in some circumstances, some even nearly costing her her jobs. Veridian is very quiet and will constantly avoid interacting with anyone (Which is why she works as a baker and not at the register), she even gets easily flustered by a simple "Have a nice day." Her self-image is not a very pretty one either, her past experiences slowly degrade how she feels about herself everyday. Though many say she has a pretty face, she will do everything in her power for them to not even glance at her. Even when she tries to hide it, she is also a paranoid person who thinks everything and anything will hurt her if she gets too close, one of the reasons for her bad habit of rapidly looking around any room, even when she's alone.

One could also say she's unfortunate given how often she gets hurt. Whether it be a trip, a fall, a scrape, a cut, or a scratch, you can bet she has a band-aid for it. Veridian almost never feels safe and almost always feels herself shaking, even if she's not. Her happiness is only derived from her stuffed animals and the stories she reads that she wishes to submerge herself into to forget her troubles. The books she read also managed to make her a very intelligent girl and knowing this gives her some sort of comfort. Veridian has very few friends, and even still, she seems distant to them which causes them to slowly abandon her. Anger often overtakes her, destroying her innocent demeanor and sometimes even turning into violent fits. Despite this, Veridian secretly hopes that someday, someone, anyone, will care about her and see beyond her flaws.

Values: In her world, she values love and knowledge. Veridian believes that the two go hand in hand and have the ability to change the world if put to use correctly.

Other: Her mother is Korean and her father is Russian which made a fluent speaker in English, Korean, and Russian and despite living in London, she has an American accent. She also has anger issues that she takes out on her stuffed animals (Which she later apologizes to).
