"Morality, like art, means drawing a line someplace." ~Oscar Wilde

O o O

Stories of familial ties and severings came to light, and those who had no real family, or no genuine collection of people who would miss them - at least, by the words of those who told these stories - were cast off by the hand of those remaining.

But now, it was getting thin. People were starting to take sides, to come up with a plan aloud of group against group. "We'll vote for this person in a group, and if you don't like it, you're next!" one said. It became more a game of targeting and strategy to survive, and less of a game of judgement.

Did people have morals at all, anymore?

THE TASK

First of all, welcome and congratulations on making it to Quarterfinals! We can both honestly say that we're attached to every character remaining, and we look forward to all of your entries this task. We're doing the same thing as we've been doing, so once again: the task is completely free reign save for the one-word theme, and will still take place in the real, modern world in which your character lived - as in past tense. In the past. Remember what we said about not going back: if you wrote a thirty year old last task, you may not write a twenty year old this task, or any tasks following this one. No going backwards!

Theme: Morals

Your character should be faced with a moral decision this task, and that decision should be made very clear to us. Like every task prior, it should be a defining moment for your character, something that has contributed to their current behavior in the circle.

BALLOT CHALLENGE

Because we're entering the final rounds of the games, this will be the last ballot challenge. Congratulations to Robin Laverne, Lilia Gingerfoot, Mister Smith, and Bartholomew Haroldson for snagging this last one. What a team! Anyways, each of you will have a second theme to include alongside the one we've given you. You'll all have to use morals and fear.
