"Trust takes years to build, seconds to break and forever to repair." ~Unknown

They had learned how to play by the rules; the consequence of breaking them resulted in something a fair amount of them weren't too keen on, and thus, conformity to those marked circles beneath them was at the forefront of each of their minds. Some were careful in what they said, some cared not, and some didn't speak at all. That streak would soon be broken, though.

They all knew what to do. The question was deciding who'd die next.

It became a matter of strategy - "Take out the old ones first!" a man cried. "They're ready to croak as it is."

Somebody else came to their elders defenses. Argument upon argument rose up, meeting its climax when it came to the fate of the dog. Soon, though, it became less a question of species or age, and more a question of morals. Of how one had lived their life.

Of who deserved to live, and who deserved to die.

And, with that foreboding question in each of their minds, they began to spill, one by one, the stories of their lives.

Dun dun dun.

THE TASK

Here it is, folks, the second task. Now that the first task is behind us, hopefully things will get a lot less complicated. Because, from this point on, these tasks will be mostly free reign. Is that the sound of cheering? Or the distant wails of a population scorned? Doesn't matter!

For the next five tasks, including this one, we'll simply give you one word to base your entry off of. Please note that these entries will not take place within the circle, but in the real, modern world in which your character lived. Lived as in past tense - in the past.

That's right, we're letting you loose! In real time, they'll still be in the circle, but you won't be writing that experience; you'll be writing an instance in their life that made them who they are today. Do whatever! But please note that you will likely want to start this entry off earlier in your character's life. Because once you write them as one age, you can't write any earlier than that in a later entry - we're keeping things chronological. So, for example, if you wrote your character as seventeen years old in task two, you wouldn't be able to write them as eleven in task three, and so on and so forth. Might be a good time to pick out the ages you wanna do now.

So, without further ado, here's what you need.

Theme: Trust

And that's it. You can use the word positively or negatively, having it or not having it, anything, really. Get creative.

WORD LIMIT

?,???

That's right, we're playing again. Some clarification, though: we don't take the numbers you give to us as guesses. We take your word count once you send in your entry. With that in mind, let's get ready for round two.

BALLOT CHALLENGE

Though it was pretty close this task, our first ballot challenge has gone to poor old Ivy Devlin. So...this task is also going to be a song task. Special criteria, just for you! Your song to be used is: Don't Shy From The Light - Neulore. Hopefully, it's open enough for you to do whatever you want. But it should still pain you to include. Ace wishes it so.

OTHER

If you need anything clarified, don't hesitate to ask! And if we didn't mention it here, assume you're to use creative liberty.
