I woke up feeling hot, the suffocating kind of hot. James' arm was slung around my waist, holding the black comforter firmly in place around me. I attempted to release his arm without waking him up, because we all know James isn't a morning person at all. It was no use, his arm was like a boa constrictor, every movement I made seemed to make him tighten his grip. Giving up with the gentle approach I shoved my back, pushing him off me. James eyes flew open, jumping slightly as I harshly woke him up. "What the hell Isabelle?" He shouted.
"You wouldn't move your arm, it was getting too hot!" I retorted.
"Ever heard of a gentle nudge?" He sarcastically replied as he released his grip from me, rolling over so that he was laying on his back, with his head still looking towards me. I rolled my eyes, slightly smirking at James. Remembering what happened last night I asked, "How are you feeling this morning?" I sat cross legged, facing James so that I could check his hands and face, which appeared to be scabbing over, most them appearing to be healing quickly.
He looked up at me, briefly smiling before replying, "One of my better mornings princess." Not sure of how to reply, I left his room to go and get some tablets, knowing that I would have no clue on where to find any in his room.
I creeped the door slightly open to check that it was safe for me to enter, but James hadn't moved one bit since I had left. Walking towards him I told him to sit up, so that he could take the tablets. I placed them in his hands before sitting back on the bed.
The awkward silence consumed the room, neither of us attempted to start a conversation. It was getting uncomfortable, I started to fidget with the comforter as the silence seemed to get more and more noticeable.
"Alec is back tomorrow" I blurted out. I'm known for doing this, saying the first thing that comes to mind just to ease tension. I let out a breath, feeling the relief of shattering the quietness, even if it was just for a few seconds. "I know, he told me yesterday" was all the reply that James graced me with before silence overcome the room again.
Author's note
I'm super sorry for not updating for over a month now, I've had some serious writer's block. I'm also sorry that this is so short... i'm going to try to sort myself out.
