I woke up this morning knowing that I only had a few hours left before we had to leave this beautiful place. I decided to throw everything into my suitcase, not caring how unorganised it was going to look, just so I could spend as much time as possible on the beach.

Flying back home after a holiday is one of the things that I hated the most, knowing that your time away from reality is ending and all that is left is a slight tan and a bunch of memories. However, knowing I had my Eighteenth birthday to look forward to did help with the holiday blues.

As soon as we landed back home I rung Susan asking her to come over so that I could tell her what happened while we were away. By the time we pulled into the drive-way she was stood there with a 'Welcome Home' banner, slightly jumping up and down as she waved frantically to me. I rushed out of the car and pulled her into a tight hug before practically dragging her inside so that I could tell her everything.

After a couple hours of spilling every detail and showing Susan numerous photos, many which included Shawn, we decided to start making plans for my birthday which was only a few days away. I think Mum was a bit relieved to hear that I would be celebrating this year, and to be honest so was I.

Turning eighteen was always something you look forward to as soon as you enter your teens. The endless possibilities now that you're legally regarded as an adult, and the obvious, being able to drink. That's exactly what Susan and I planned to do tonight, drink to our hearts content now that we are both finally of age.

Susan arrived at around five o'clock, knowing full well that she would be getting both of us ready. It was a well-known fact that I was useless in any makeup or hair department, however I had stored several bottles of vodka under my bed in return. It was a good trade if you asked me.

I had a mixture of nervousness and excitement filling my stomach, that was slowly disappearing with every glass of liquid poison. Susan had somehow managed to make me unrecognisable, with dark smoky eye makeup and loose curls that framed my face perfectly. It made a change from my normal makeup-free face. Makeup to me was the same as art, you need the flare and talent to make it look good, which I had neither of, so I didn't tend to bother. Except when Susan is around of course.

Whilst Susan finally started getting herself ready I changed into my skin tight maroon dress, that had a diamond shape cut out of the front a few inches below my collar bones, exposing my chest. The dress was held up by a strip going straight down my cleavage, that was attached to the remainder of the dress exactly between my two collar bones. I paired it with a pair of maroon heels, that I know I will regret wearing halfway through the night.

Grabbing my drink, that I desperately needed filling I walked out of my closet.

"Hey Susan, how does this look?" I brushed out the invisible creases that couldn't exist due to the dress being so tight.

"Oh my god!"

My jaw dropped Susan looked absolutely stunning. Her hair was up in a classy wavy bun that sat at the back of her neck and her eyes, similar to mine, was covered in a sparkly smoke that lit up her face. A mesh, short black dress that looked far too complicated to put on showed off her petite figure.

"You can say as much, look at you!" She blushed at my reaction.

I filled up my glass knowing that tonight was going to be a good night.

"Cheers" We clinked our glasses together, not knowing how many drinks we've had, and not caring either.
