Your hangers scrape against the rod in your closet as you try to find an outfit to wear to the party. Kahoot had planned to meet you at your house at 10, and it was already 9:55. You shrug as you pick out something comfy and casual, making sure not to forget a sweater since you were walking there with him.
You weren't sure who's party it was, so Phoenix had texted you the address after school. According to him they were really fun, but since you've never gone to this one you weren't 100% sure.
The doorbell rings and you excitedly run to open the door. Kahoot gives you a little wave before walking in. He's still wearing his outfit from today, but he had somehow flattened his hair and styled it into something manageable.
"You look nice," he mentions, and you say that he looks nice as well.
Kahoot knows that he shouldn't be nervous, but he can't help shaking a bit as you both head out the door. Not only is this the first party he's been to, but it's also when he plans to ask you out afterwards.
You both don't talk much during the walk there, so you end up lost in your thoughts thinking back to when you met Tinsley, one of your closest friends aside from Bay and Phoenix.
Tinsley Pennigton is a quirky private school kid who you met by chance at a coffee shop. That day the cafe had been very busy, all of the tables crowded and the line bustling. Tinsley has been sitting at a table in the corner, tinkering on his newest project.
He's the kind of person who adores building and tinkering with things, such as clocks, robots, or anything that could be useful. The first time you noticed him was when he was making a wind up toy for his little cousin, a little bird with copper wings.
He intrigued you, and even though you really wanted to meet him, you were too shy to go and introduce yourself. Luckily, while the cashier was giving you your change for the coffee you bought, a guy bumped into you and made one of your dimes roll all the way to Tinsley's shoe.
When you went to retrieve it, he handed it to you and offered to sit down.
"What's your name?" He asked
"Y/n, what's yours?" You replied.
"Tinsley. Tinsley Pennigton."
You must've spent at least two hours sitting at that table talking to him, and continued to meet him there every week for a couple of months. As a matter of fact, you still do, and are meeting up with him in a couple of days. Albeit him being a bit socially awkward, you consider him a really good friend, and hope to introduce him to Bay and Phoenix in the near future.
You're snapped out of your thoughts when Kahoot asks you a question.
"Sorry, what?" You ask.
"I said, have you ever been to a party before?"
You shove your hands in your pockets before answering. "Yeah, a couple before this, but they've never really been my thing."
He looks at you funnily. "Then why did you agree to come with me tonight?"
You smile shyly. "Because you wanted to."
"O-oh."
You motion to the house Phoenix had directed you to, and you both head to the door. Kahoot knocks enthusiastically, and after a few seconds the door opens. You both cringe upon seeing who it is, and it's silent for a moment before anyone speaks.
"Welcome to humble home!" exclaims Kai with a visibly forced smile. He gestures widely with his arm in a welcoming gesture, and you both follow him inside.
