In the time that you've known him, you've figured out that Tinsley Pennington is a very creative boy. Right now, you're both at the cafe where you two met, which isn't very busy on a Sunday morning. You're helping him with his latest project: a desk lamp, made out of a bronze sink faucet and a retro light bulb shaped as a flame.

Tinsley's wearing a grey flat cap, as well as a dress shirt paired with a brown vest. His outfit gives off a very steam punk/victorian styled vibe.

"Hey, did you hear about who the new gouverneur générale is?" he asks you as you hand him a soldering gun.

"Hmm? Oh, no. Who is it?"

"Julie Payette." he grabs a piece of solder in his hand and rests his elbows on the table. "Don't you have a teacher that's a big fan of hers?"

"Yep." The teacher in question is Mr. Adams, who lets the class watch videos of her talking about space and stuff instead of working. She's cool and interesting too, so it's a double win. It doesn't take long for Tinsley to finish his project with your help. All finished, you have to admit that it's pretty cool. The lamp has a rustic look to it, and when it turns on the old light bulb just adds to the effect.

After gathering up all of the stuff, you and Tinsley start walking to his house. You both plan on playing video games together. Before you get there, however, a hooded figure halts you in your path.

A knife is held loosely between his fingers. "Just give me your m-money and no one gets hurt."

You freeze. Tinsley, on the other hand, just calmly assess the situation before reaching into his pocket for some cash. He hands the bills over.

"That lamp, too," the figure says, pointing. Tinsley pouts at that, but ultimately complies. The thief runs off into an alley next to where you were walking, looking back twice. The whole thing happens really quickly. You didn't even have to hand anything over.

Tinsley seems unfazed. He continues on walking, before stopping to see that you haven't moved.

"You coming, y/n?" he asks casually, like he wasn't just mugged. You nod and catch up. After a beat or tow, you decide speak and not ignore what just happened.

"Should we have done something instead of just standing there?" you croak out, still kind of shocked.

He shrugs, kicking a rock. "It's fine. If I wanted to fight or something, I would have."

"Really? Then why didn't you?" The tone of your voice isn't mean, just curious.

He doesn't reply right away, thinking about how he's going to answer. Tinsley finally whispers: "Did you see how young he was?"

You shake your head. You didn't get a good look at his face because his hood covered most of it. Tinsley sighs. "Hell, he was most likely our age. If he's so broke that he needs to go around mugging people, then he needs that lamp and money more than I do."

Tinsley's words make you pause.

"You astonish me, ya know?"

He smiles bashfully. "Thank you."

Louise doesn't know how she got sucked into this scheme, but she's not exactly regretting it. Being asked by Kahoot and Phoenix for her help in filling a whole classroom full of plastic balls isn't something that happens everyday. Of course, she didn't have to say yes, but where's the fun in that?

"How do you have a key to here, anyways?" Phoenix asks. Night has fallen, and Kahoot, Louise, and Phoenix are all huddling outside the emergency exit of Mr. Adams' classroom.

She smiles slyly. "A girl's gotta have some secrets."

Her key fits perfectly into the lock, and the door glides open easily.

"Hacker voice: we're in," whispers Kahoot, putting on imaginary glasses over his red and blue ones.

Phoenix drags the bigger two of the four sacs into the room, the other ones on Kahoot's and Louise's shoulders. In a gesture that's really quite anticlimactic, he pours both bags out.

"Huh. This seemed a lot more fun in my head," Phoenix exclaims. Kahoot nods in agreement, but still enjoys flinging the bag open and letting all the balls rain down. Louise raises her eyebrow, specifically the one with a slit in it.

"You just have to be creative about it," Louise tells them, opening one of Mr. Adams drawers and placing a couple balls inside. "The true fun is months later, when he's had enough of these things but still keeps finding them everywhere."

With that piece of advice in mind, they all get to work. Balls of every colour find their way into drawers, containers, shoes, desks, and every nook and cranny available. Phoenix throws some up on the tops of everything, Louise hides some that are squished flat inside of books, and Kahoot puts some in the mugs lining Mr. Adams personal cupboard.

When Louise leaves with them that night, laughing alongside them, she's certain she's going to lose her job.
