Chapter #2

"...... I'm sorry. I'm just so frustrated. And hungry." Evelyn explains.

"I know. I'm sorry."

She looks up at her mother. There were tears in her eyes. Evelyn gives her a hug. Raven hugs her back. Then the door opens with a whistling Daniel walking into the kitchen.

Evelyn and Raven let go of each other.

"And how was your day?" Raven asks.

"Great." Dan replies.

"Well, you need to change. We're going to the Tsukumo's." Raven tells him.

"Okay." Daniel heads upstairs to change.

He takes a couple minutes to change and comes back downstairs.

Evelyn and Raven were waiting in the hall by the door.

When Dan joins them, they head out. Like last time they walked.

Also like last time Evelyn was at the back, a few meters behind them.

"Evelyn! Are you...." Raven started.

Evelyn looked up. She stopped, and gasped.

They stopped walking. She looked around. Cars have stopped, birds have stopped. Time has stopped.

She listens for explosions or screams. She hears both. She takes off running towards the sound.

She got closer. Then in front of her a guy crashes to the ground in the road. She looks to her left, a blond guy stands there.

"Kite." She said under her breath.

He looks up.

"Evelyn."

She walks over to him slowly. He takes a couple steps forward. Evelyn walks right up to him.

"Kite....I'm sorry."

"About what?" He asks.

"About what I said the last time we talked."

"Me too. I was just to angry to tell you."

"Same. I don't want to beat you and take your numbers."

"Me either. But I have to, to save my brother."

"I know you do. But I gave our numbers to Yuma."

"To Yuma?" He said surprised.

"Yeah. You have to duel him to take them. I'm sorry."

He looks down.

"Kite..."

"I just wish you gave them to me."

"Kite I would have..."

"Why didn't you!" He yelled.

She flinched and took a step back. She's never heard Kite yell before.

"I..."

"Well!"

She went silent, and looked down at her key.

"You don't have an envoy from Astral World, do you?"

"I...do."

"Then why did you give them to Yuma?"

"Because I didn't want to choose between you and Astrid."

"Now you have to choose between me and Yuma."

He turns around and starts to walk away. But Evelyn didn't want him to leave.

She grabs his arm and turns him around. Then she hugs him, starting to cry.

He's shocked.

"I don't want you to go."

"I have too."

He pulls her off.

"Orbital. Let's go."

He takes flight, Evelyn watching with tears falling down her face.

"Kite!"

He doesn't stop. He keeps flying.
