Chapter #3

Evelyn walks back to her mother and brother, who have stopped to wait for her.

"There you are Ever Green. I thought we lost you." Dan said.

"You don't have to worry about me."

"You sure you're okay?" He asks.

"Yep." She walks head of them both.

Dan shrugs and follows behind her.

A few minutes later Evelyn knocks on the door to Yuma's house. Yuma gets it.

"Hey! You made it just in time. Come on in."

"Thanks Yuma."

He opens the door and the 3 of them walk in.

"Hey Dan. Want to duel?" Yuma asks.

"Why not. Let's go."

They head outside and start a duel. Evelyn sits on some stairs and watches with Cari. Astral and Astrid are watching too.

"So, how's life?" Cari asks Evelyn.

Evelyn looks at her dumbfounded.

"Um....fantastic." She replied sarcastically. "You?"

"Great. By the way, your brother is awesome."

"What do you mean? How would you know?"

Dan yells and lands on the ground.

"Dan! You okay!?" Evelyn yells.

He gets up to one knee.

"Yeah. All good." He gives a thumbs up.

"Okay. Yuma! Don't hurt him to much! He has to work tomorrow!"

"I'll try." Yuma replies.

Evelyn sighs.

"Dan has to work tomorrow?" Cari asks.

"Yeah. Why?"

"He said he was free tomorrow."

"What? Why?"

"We were going to hangout."

"Hangout? With Cari? What's going on?"

"Ahhhh!" Yuma yells, crashing to the ground.

"Haha. I win Yuma." Dan said.

"Next time." Yuma says.

"Oh good. You finished just in time for dinner." Raven came out.

Cari and Evelyn got up. Dan helped Yuma, and they made their way over to the house.

"Is Dan hiding something?" Evelyn thought.

They sit down at the table and start to eat. Yuma dove in like usual.

"Come on Yuma. Eat like a normal person." Cari told him.

"What? I am." He said with some food in his mouth.

Everybody laughs. Even Evelyn.

"So, how are things with you guys?" Haru asked.

"Very busy. I'm working longer then normal. They made cut backs of the nurses that work at the hospital." Raven explained.

"Oh no. If there's anything you need from us, just let us know." Haru offers.

"Oh thank you. You're to kind."

Haru and Raven kept talking to each other. Dan and Yuma were talking about duelling, while Cari and Evelyn listened.

Evelyn was still wondering of Dan was hiding something.

Evelyn couldn't take it. So many emotions were running wild.

She got up and left. Raven, Haru, Dan, and Yuma stop talking.

"I'll go talk to her." Yuma got up and went after her.

He found her on the stairs outside again.

"Evelyn, what's up?" Yuma sat down beside her.

"I....I saw Kite again."

"What happened?"

"We apologized to each other but..... I told him that I gave you the numbers and he got upset. Because I didn't give them to him." Evelyn puts her head in her hands.

"Evelyn, I'm sorry."

"That's not the worst part. I think Dan's hiding something." She said.

"Why don't you ask him?"

"Really? That didn't occur to me."

"Okay, okay. So, when will you?" Yuma asked.

"When we get home."
