Chapter #12

Evelyn follows Tony. She starts to see the top of a van. The bottom was hidden by some boxes.

"Here. This is were they took her."

He took her over to the boxes. She looked over and saw two men guiding kids in the van.

"Why would they need kids?" Evelyn thought.

"Where is she?" Daniel asks worriedly.

"We'll find her Dan."

"Think Yuma. Where have you not looked yet?" Astral asked.

"Where haven't we looked yet?" Yuma repeated to Dan.

He gritted his teeth and looked around.

"The only place we haven't looked yet is the alleys."

"Then let's go try." Yuma said.

They walked through the alleys looking for Evelyn.

They got to the spot where she met Tony.

Daniel was getting frustrated.

They kept walking on ward.

Evelyn watched the men from the boxes. Tony waited with her.

"Are you going to do something?" He asked.

"What can I do? I can't stop them. I could get help."

Evelyn got up and kept her head down, backing away slowly.

A hand covered her mouth and her arm was forced behind her back. Tony was being carried away screaming and crying.

"Let's take this one."

He forced her to walk. Evelyn was scared. She wanted Dan.

"Put her in the van." Another man said.

Dan and Yuma heard some screaming.

"What in the world?"

"Yuma, that way." Astral pointed to the right.

"This way." Yuma ran to the right.

Daniel followed. They ran and ran. They made it to the alley where the van was. They saw two men trying to put a girl inside. She was resisting and trying to get away. But their grip was to tight.

"No! Get off me!" She yelled.

Daniel's eyes widen.

"Evelyn!"

She stopped and looked at him.

"Yuma! Dan!"

They ran forward. The men pushed her in. She hit the metal floor with a bang and a grunt. The doors shut. Luckily there was a small window with bars. She stumbled to her feet and got up to the window.

"Dan!" She screamed.

The van's engine roared to life and it started moving.

"It's starting to move! We won't be able to stop it." Yuma said.

"Dan, please!"

The van started to slow down a bit. Dan was meters away. Evelyn gritted her teeth and stuck her arm out of the window. They reached for each other. They felt their finger tips.

The van started picking up speed and Dan started to lose them. Dan was starting to get tied. He stopped running.

"Dan!" She reached for him. But it was no use.

"I promise I'll find you!"

The van disappeared around a corner.

Daniel grit his teeth and fell on his knees starting to cry and sob.

"I did this! Me! I did this to her!"

Yuma finally caught up panting.

He was shocked to see Daniel on the ground.

"She didn't want this! She didn't deserve this! This should have happened to me!"

"Dan...."

Dan put his hand in his pocket and pulled out her key. He looked at it in his hand. He curled his fingers over it and put his fist over his heart.

"Evelyn. I'm so sorry."
