Zadie's POV:

I barely registered that the doorbell ringing was even the doorbell.

But by the second ring, it did.

I groaned, stepping out of my room, calling down to Alex.

"If that's Delta, she has a key."

Everything went quiet, then there was a knock.

I groaned, lazily walked downstairs and peeked through the little window beside the front door.

"Chase?"

I unlocked the door.

"Good morning?"

He didn't miss a beat.

"I brought you coffee," he held up the iced drink.

I stifled a laugh before taking it.

"Thanks..." I glanced at the cup. "How'd you know my order?"

"Delta told me...she also said bringing it to you before school would be thoughtful."

"I mean...it is, but you didn't have to do that."

He shrugged, "I wanted to."

"You know," I walked further into my house, "She and Leo would lose their minds if they knew we went out Friday night."

Chase laughed, "they'd throw a party."

I took a sip of my drink, looking down at my attire.

"Mm...don't leave! I need to get ready for school."

He smiled to himself as I turned toward the stairs.

"I'm not."

Ten minutes later, I came back downstairs pulling on my dying, white converse and a flannel over my tank.

Chase looked up from his phone, staring intently at my outfit.

"What?"

"Is that my flannel?"

I looked down, "I wondered whose it was."

"Did you take it when you were over?"

I grinned as I slung my backpack over my shoulder.

"I prefer the term borrowed."

He sighed.

"It looks better on you anyway."

My cheeks went red and so did his.

"I mean...you know..." He shook his head. "Let's go."

-Mission Creek High-
Third Person's POV:

Delta was digging through her locker when she spotted Chase and Zadie walking in together.

She noticed the iced coffee and the flannel...which she'd swear was Chase's.

Leo nudged her.

"Are you seeing this?"

Delta nodded. "Mhm...isn't that Chase's flannel?"

Leo did a double-take.

"Are they just messing with us at this point?"

Delta huffed, "probably! Or they're too dumb to realize what's going on."

Adam happily walked over before they could talk about it anymore.

Leo tapped her goodbye and walked off.
