A/N- hey besties, welcome <3
-Mission Creek, California-
Delta James' POV:
I couldn't believe it. Tomorrow, Leo and I would start high school together. Things had been going great lately. Tasha had remarried a billionaire named Donald Davenport—he was egotistical, sure, but he also had a ton of cool stuff and a massive house. I was helping Leo move in for his first day at his new place... or rather, his mansion.
"Welcome to your new home, Mrs. Davenport." Davenport said, happily, as he carried Tasha through the door.
"Why thank you, Mr. Davenport."
"Absolutely, Mrs. Davenport." Alright, I love Tasha, but this is getting on my nerves. This is like the eighty-third time they've used that....today.
"We get it. You got married. It's getting old." Leo said, as we dropped the bags by the door. "Wow! You got this big house just from inventing things?"
Davenport nodded.
I smiled, "Way to go, Tasha. That's a husband."
"What the heck is that?" Leo walked over to some device by the couch.
"Oh, uh, that is my latest creation: Davenport Industries' first completely interactive 3-D TV." Davenport explained, turning it on. On the screen was a baseball field, and Leo looked like he might actually catch the ball—until he didn't. He ended up running straight into the wall. It was hilarious... until the wall started talking.
"Watch the vase, termite." The screen on the wall warned.
Leo rubbed the back of his head, "Mom, Del, I think the little voice inside my head is back."
"No, this is Eddy. He's my smart home system." Davenport told us. "Eddy, this is my new stepson, Leo, and his best friend, Delta. Remember, I told you Leo and Tasha are moving in today?"
"Hey, welcome. Everything here is mine."
The two of us exchanged unimpressed looks.
"Uh, Leo, why don't you go check out your new bedroom?" Davenport suggested. "Just head down that hallway, and when you see the room with the video games, action figures, and the fifty-foot screen TV, keep walking—that's mine."
So, Leo and I went on our mini house adventure, which turned out to be quite confusing. We finally found his room, which was bare and empty except for a tiny bench. "Leo, this place is huge," I said.
"Yeah, I know. I'm going to need a GPS just to find the bathroom," he said, leaning against the wall. To our surprise, the wall slid open, revealing some kind of secret door—or rather, an elevator. Whoa...
We stepped inside slowly, both of us calling out, "Hello?" as if expecting someone—or something—to be inside.
The doors shut behind us, and the elevator plummeted at an accelerated speed, causing Leo and me to scream in panic until it finally stopped. The doors opened to reveal what looked like some kind of cave or underground lair.
"Whoa, my new dad is Batman!" Leo exclaimed. We quickly dove behind a stack of yellow barrels when we heard footsteps approaching from another set of doors, followed by the sound of them closing behind someone.
"Good luck getting in! That steel door is thicker than your head!" the boy yelled. Apparently not, because another guy punched—yes, punched—the doors down. Um, what?! "Well, there's another way to get in," the boy nervously shrugged.
The taller one stepped through the busted door, picking up the first boy by the collar, "Give me back my ePod!"
"I don't have it!"
