Leandrea's POV

"It's a no."

It seemed like my entire world stopped. I felt my knees buckle as a new set of tears flowed down my cheeks but Ryden caught me.

Now I could say that all hope was lost.

Why did I have such high hopes anyway?

I didn't even know Ryden and I expected him to come and save Marlene and I like a knight in shining armor.

Man up Leah! Find another way!

I still wasn't giving up on Marlene.

I wiped away my tears and pulled away from Ryden, his green eyes searching mine.

"Thanks," I said taking a few steps behind looking at the grass. "I understand if you don't share the same feelings my sister does."

"Lea-"

"I was so stupid," I said completely ignoring him. "I expected you to go according to my plan and help me when you don't even know me."

"Lea-"

"Ofcourse who did I think I was forcing you to go my way. It should be your choice," I said continuing my rant.

"Lea-"

"I'll have to think of another way now but-"

"Leandrea!"

Ryden finally got my attention. "You don't understand," he said rubbing the back of his neck. "It's true I don't like Marlene. I love her, and I want to be with her."

I had no clue what happened but the next thing I remembered was flinging myself at Ryden and giving him a huge hug.

"Thank you so much Ryden! You're the best!" I cried into his shoulder.

He laughed. "Anything for my love."

"Awwe," I cooed. "You and Marlene are going to be so cute!" Ryden just grinned. "Thanks so much," I continued. "You have no clue how much this means to me. Marlene finally has hope."

"When do I meet her?" He asked.

"Well you could come home with me after school," I said. "I need a ride anyway."

"Consider that a plan," he said winking at me. "Wanna have lunch now?"

"Well, I don't wanna be late for bio," I said sounding like a total nerd. "Bio started almost fifteen minutes ago," Ryden said starting to walk towards the picnic tables. "And we missed lunch away. You can go for bio unless you want detention."

That made up my mind and I walked faster to catch up with Ryden's long stride.

Damn you tall people with long legs!

"I didn't know you bring packed lunch," I said eyeing the packet which he'd placed on the table as I sat. "You seem more like the cafe type."

"You don't know many things about me," he said opening the packet and took out couple of sandwiches and handing me one. "Salted Tuna?"

"No way," I said waving my sandwich in his face. "Roast Lamb is way better."

"Says you," he muttered taking a bite of his sandwich. "Salted Tuna is the best in the world."

I just rolled my eyes and continued eating my sandwich in peace.  "So how are you and Caleb working out?" Ryden said breaking the silence.

I almost choked on my food. "Me and Caleb? What do you mean?"
