AN: You really didn't think that I would leave you guys hanging that way, did you?
Well here's the last chapter. Enjoy!
Leandrea's POV
I braced myself for the hard impact of my death as I stepped off the edge of the building, but instead I felt a pair of strong arms catch me by the waist and pull me backwards.
I lost my balance, tripping backwards but my fall was cushioned by the person who saved me.
Ryden.
"What the fuck were you thinking Leandrea?!" He shouted as his hands and eyes scanned my body for any injuries. On finding none, he took a deep breath, visibly calming down. "Do you know what would happen to me if I lost you?"
"How does it matter?" I shrieked, tears forming beneath my eyes. "Marlene's dead and I have nothing to live for anymore! Why did you save me?!"
"Leandrea don't cry," Ryden said cupping my cheek. "Marlene-"
"I don't know how to live without her Ryden," I cried into his shoulder cutting him off. "She's gone! What's going to happen now? How do we tell the others?"
"Leandrea-"
"Nothing is working out!" I continued. "How am I supposed to live without her and forget about all the memories we've shared?"
"Leandrea!" Ryden shouted, shaking my shoulders. "Marlene isn't dead!"
"What?" I asked, his words not registering.
"You heard me right love," he said, a wild grin spreading across his face. "She's alive."
"You're joking," I said warily.
"I'm not!" Ryden said. "She flatlined for about 5 minutes but then suddenly her heart started beating again. Her body accepted the transfer."
"She's alive?" I asked slowly. "Marlene's alive?"
"Alive and cancer free."
It felt like my shattered life had fallen back into place. The shadows had disappeared and the sun was out, never to set again.
Marlene was alive. Marlene was cancer free.
I flung myself on Ryden wrapping my legs around his waist and smashing my lips on his.
I could feel the wheels turning, everything setting back into place. Marlene was fine. I was alive and Ryden was mine. It couldn't be better.
Ryden's hands were pushing my body closer towards him as I ran my fingers through his hair. My hands found my way to the top button of his shirt and I felt him laugh beneath me.
"We're on a hospital roof love," he said putting me down and breaking the kiss. "We should probably get a room."
"No," I groaned pulling him towards me. "You don't know how much I've waited for us to be together. Don't stop. Please don't stop."
"So it's a yes to us?" He asked, his green eyes shinning like a child's.
"Definitely," I chuckled, standing on my toes so as to wrap my arms around his neck. "I'm not going to let go of you that easily."
"Before we get back to where we stopped," Ryden said. "I need to show you something."
"Is it what I think it is?" I asked, wriggling my eyebrows.
"If you wanted this you should've told me earlier," he smirked. "It takes time to find protection for a size as big as mine."
"I didn't mean that," I said as my jaw dropped. "And I really didn't want to know that."
"Yeah whatever helps you sleep at night without me love," he said his smirk growing wider at my frustration. "Coming back to the point, I have something else to show you."
He began unbuttoning his shirt revealing his chiseled 8 packs. I couldn't help but stare as my mouth watered.
He was so hot, and all mine.
"I thought you were against stripping on the hospital roof," I said shifting my eyes back to his face. My mind was starting to shut down as he walked closer towards me.
"Open your eyes idiot," he chuckled. "Look."
I opened an eye and saw him pointing at his abs. "Ryden this isn't the time," I said shutting it back again.
"Just look here."
I sighed and looked to where he was pointing. Just above the waistband of his jeans these was a tattoo. I remembered seeing a bit of it the day I fell asleep with Ryden on the couch, but I never read it that time.
"LA?" I asked reading what the script said.
"Leandrea Andrews," he said, giving me his best boyish smile. "After I rescued you from Jeremy, I knew that you were the only one from me and each and and every other moment has I've spent with you has only strengthened my belief."
"You tattooed my name on you?" I asked my fingers tracing the lines marking his skin. "Didn't it hurt?"
"Oh, I could tattoo each and every part of my body with you," Ryden laughed.
Touched and a new confidence in me and I bet down and kissed my name on him, tasting his deliciousness with it. I heard inhale a sharp breath when my lips made contact with his skin.
I had this effect on him.
"Put on your shirt nasty," I laughed throwing him his shirt. "I want to see my sister."
He chuckled and put it on as we walked down 23 floors hand in hand.
Somehow, I was glad Ryden stopped me. I didn't want Marlene waking up only to find me dead.
And to add to the celebration, Ryden and I were finally dating and I don't think we were ever going down. I've never been prouder to call anyone my boyfriend.
As I looked back over these couple of months, I realized how I've grown as a person.
In the beginning I was just a shy girl who buried her face in a book with her limited friends. But now, I was proud to say that I was much more.
Being with Ryden had made me confident and got me out of my shell and I couldn't thank him enough for all he'd done for me.
There might've been a few negative points like Jeremy and Marlene's cancer and Chelsea, but all in all they'd helped me grow into someone I never thought I would be.
From grieving about my life, I become someone who was looking forward to my future eagerly.
A future with Ryden and Marlene by my side. They were the ones who'd rescued me from swirling into the depths of despair. They were the ones who'd given me hope.
I looked at Ryden walking beside me, and smiled. "Thanks for saving me," I whispered and his smile acknowledged that he knew I wasn't only talking about my suicidal stunt.
THE END.
