Leandrea's POV
A lone wolf howled in the distance as I gazed up at the stars. The night air was calm and cool, it's slight saltiness brushing against my bare skin.
Even the night life in the woods around me sensed the perfection of the moment and started a symphony in honour of us. Me and Ryden.
"I shouldn't have stayed away from you," I heard Ryden whisper through my closed eyes as I felt his warm lips on my chest where his pendant rested. "I never realized what I was missing out on."
I lifted my head and smiled at the boy who'd stolen my heart. He looked so heavenly with the moonlight falling on him. So perfect, and all mine.
"Promise me you'll never let me go," I said wrapping my arms around his bare chest. The only thing between us was the thin fabric of the white dress I was wearing and suddenly that felt like too much.
Ryden responded by capturing my lips with his and that gave me my answer. When I was with him everything else didn't matter. I felt beautiful, loved and safe.
Suddenly a cold breeze blew making the body shiver. The dress which I'd worn to please Ryden with it's plunging neckline that stopped mid waist wasn't helping in keeping out the cold. He was my only source of warmth.
"Follow me," he said breaking our kiss and pulling me to my feet. I couldn't help but smile as he lead me through the forest at night, everything painted with a slight coat of silver. The grass moist beneath my bare feet.
We stopped at a lake. That was the only thing the moonlight hadn't touched. It's murky waters were a mix of black and deep blue but yet it had an alluring look.
"Why are we here?" I asked him but I got my response when I saw her rise from the dark waters.
Marlene.
It looked like she was part of the darkness of the lake, the flowing gown she was wearing blended into it with perfect harmony. The only thing out of place was the bright red stain on her heart.
A symbol of a shattered soul.
"You took away all I had," she said softly, her voice carrying towards over the silence of the jungle. "Now it's my turn."
I felt Ryden's hand slipping through my fingers, no matter how hard I tried to hold on. He was going away from, now wading shoulder deep into the lake and slowly disappearing.
I tried to speak but I was unable to.
"Wake up," Marlene said as she slowly sank into the dark with an evil smirk. "Wake up Leandrea."

I opened my eyes with a start, suddenly wishing I didn't as I saw the bright light beyond.
Was I dead?
"Leandrea," a familiar voice said. "Please wake up. It's me."
This time I opened my eyes slowly and waited for them to adjust to the brightness. I took in my surroundings, realizing I was in a hospital room in a hospital gown. A couple of tubes were attached to my body, but I felt fine. Just a little weak.
"Where am I?" I croaked seeing Ryden beside my hospital bed. "What are you doing here?"
"The doctors finished one part of the operation," he said. "Now they've to put your sample in Marlene and make sure she responds. She's in operation now."
