Leandrea's POV
"Jeremy?!" I managed to squeak as I recognized his eyes hidden behind his white tuxedo. "What the hell do you think you're doing!"
"Trying to apologize," he said looking away from me. "With everyone continuously protecting you from me, I never got to apologize to you."
"Keep your sick apologies to yourself," I snapped. I was stuck between the wall and his hard body with my hands pinned behind my back with his. "Let me go you asshole!"
"Here me out first Leah," he said calmly. Apparently I was too weak for my struggle to affect him. He had a grip of iron. "That night I was drunk and really out of my head, I didn't kiss that girl on purpose. She was the one who kissed me first and took advantage of me. And I apologize again for everything that happened later. Believe me, I was drunk and out of my mind. I had no clue what I was doing."
He paused for a bit and continued, those same enchanting eyes staring into mine with desire. "I miss you Leah. You were probably the best girlfriend and I know that you love me too."
"Love you?" I laughed. "What made you think that Jeremy? Let me make it clear. I hate you. I hate everything about you, I hate every single cell of your body."
"But your dress?" He asked, clearly hurt.
"My dress?"
"It's the colour of my eyes Leah," Jeremy said and reality crashed down on me. "I thought that meant you loved me."
I looked down at my dress and back at his eyes in disbelief. He was right, there were the same mysterious midnight blue.
Marlene was going to get a very wonderful set of words when I got home tonight.
"Jeremy," I began, trying to hide the anger, evident in my voice. "This dress, has nothing to do with your stupid eyes because I don't want a single reminder for how the very eyes that loved me, scared me forever. And don't gimme that 'I'm sorry and I was drunk' bullshit. I was there, Jeremy. I, was the victim. And after what you said and what you did. I know your true side."
"Leah please-"
"Get away," I said, pushing him and he took a few steps behind, leaving enough space for me to get out from here. "And never, I mean never ever show me your face again."
You know how they say you feel victorious, liberated even when you get even with someone who did you wrong, when you saw the pain in their eyes and you were the cause of it?
That's how I felt as I walked down the corridor, towards the music playing at the other end, near the hall. Yeah what I'd said to him was nothing conpared to what he did to me, but it was something.
But all thoughts of Jeremy left my head as I entered the grand hall. It was darkly lit with red, green and yellow lanterns hanging mid-air, giving the hall a great look. The band was playing a slow waltz and the dance floor was filled with couples slowly moving to the music. The other end of the room was filled with tables, some people were there too. I managed to locate my friends on a table they'd managed to grab hold of and made my way to them through the crowd.
"Where were you?" Jessica asked me as soon I sat down, in the seat saved for me. She and Caleb had entered a while ago, she was wearing a beautiful green gown, that trailed behind her. Her blonde hair was expertly styled and her green mask had a couple of white flowers on it. She looked beautiful. Caleb on the other hand was chugging down as much beer as he could, but offered me a smile as I entered. He was wearing a simple tux, with a black mask and a bow tie, with his curls gelled down.
"Bathroom," I lied and Natasha and Kevin burst into laughter. I rolled my eyes rembering their previous plans.
"This dance is so boring," Dylan yawned. "When will they play good music."
