Chapter 9

Leandrea's POV

I'd been waiting outside Marlene's door for about 10 minutes now and  I was extremely bored.

At first, I'd tried listening through  the keyhole but it isn't as easy as they show in the movies. I couldn't hear a thing. I even tried looking under the door but it didn't work either.

So I just waited.

In the end I got bored and went to my room and started scrolling through my Twitter Feed.

I was just about to fall asleep when I heard a soft thud outside and got to my feet. I opened my door in a hurry and almost dashed into Ryden.

"Hey," he said catching me in time.

"Hey?!," I almost screamed. "After the crucial task I assigned you, you come out and say 'Hey'?!"

"Shut up," Ryden said in a fierce whisper. "She'll here you. Let's talk downstairs."

I followed him downstairs in a huff and lead him to the kitchen. "You want anything?" I asked opening the fridge and taking out a bottle of coke. He grapped it from my hands before I even opened it and gulped nearly half of it down. I stared at him with my mouth open. Boys!

"Thanks," he said handing me the empty bottle as he leaned against the counter. I stuck my tongue out at him as I drank the rest. "So you were saying something?"

"There's nothing much to say," he said frankly. "I told her what a douche I was not to tell her earlier and asked her out and she said yes."

"She said yes?!" I shrieked. I was so glad that my plan was working. Marlene finally had hope.

"Yup," Ryden said.

"Ryden, you have to tell me everything in detail!" I wailed. "I want to know what happened."

"Well you want to know how we made out?" He asked raising an eyebrow at me.

"Yes!" I said surprising myself. "Did you actually?" Ryden just rolled his eyes but that gave me my answer. "Oh my God! You guys actually made out!" I shrieked jumping about. "And you guys just met and only for 15 minutes! What will happen next!!" I turned around and shot him a few daggers with my eyes. "Ryden, I promise you if you do anything to my sister with or without protection, I will kick your sorry -"

"Shut up Leah," a voice said and my head immediately snapped to the door where my mom stood with her shopping bags. I turned to Ryden who was now standing, expecting him to be all pale. Surprisingly, he was calm and was sporting a huge smile. What??

"Hello Mrs Taites," he said taking my mom's shopping bag from her hands and dumping them on the table. "I'm Ryden. I believe Marlene introduced us sometime ago." I was shocked. When did he become such a goodie?

"Ofcourse, I remember you Ryden dearie," my mom said cheerfully. "But Marlene never introduced you as her boyfriend."

"Oh that's the latest update," Ryden winking at my mom with a laugh. Oh my god. Did he just wink at my mother?

"And Leah," my mom said finally turning to me. "Don't you think I should be giving Ryden that talk?"

I watched Ryden go pale out of the corner of my eye but he turned back to his normal colour as soon as my mother laughed. "I'm just kidding dears. I'm sure Ryden will take great care of Marlene."

"I should get going," Ryden said. "It was great meeting you Mrs. Taites."

"Oh call me Debra," my mom said. "Come over for dinner sometime." I mumbled something about dropping him till his car and walked out behind Ryden.
