The sun had only just risen, and I was already on my way to school. I went to Midtown School of Science and Technology. As I rubbed my eyes tiredly, waiting for the train to arrive, I thought about the day ahead.

My cheeks heated up as I thought about having to sit next to Peter Parker in chemistry, first period. He was very sweet, offering to help me whenever I was stuck on a question.

I'd been kept up last night by the sounds of a siren right next to my apartment, which meant I was currently running on about an hour of sleep.

I could usually manage being sleep deprived, but today, I apparently could not. I was drifting off, sitting on one of the nearby benches when the train came to a stop at my platform.

I must look horrid to the other passengers, wearing an old hoodie with a pair of ripped jeans, my hair in a gross and messy bun. I just couldn't be bothered to make myself look nice today.

I stumbled aboard the train and nearly ran straight into the one boy I'd been thinking about. Peter Parker was holding onto one of the support poles, headphones in.

He was the one to grab me when I nearly fell over, with scary-quick reflexes

He was the one to grab me when I nearly fell over, with scary-quick reflexes. "Sorry-" I looked up at Peter, blushing a little when I found him smiling at me. "It's okay. Good morning to you too, Jess."

Once I had my balance, Peter let go of my shoulder. The train left the station, heading towards Midtown. I held onto the pole, my hand just below Peter's. It kept me upright, but I still kept drifting off, slumping against the pole.

Peter noticed this, and it gave me a fright when he placed a hand on my waist, leaning me back against him. "You can lean on me if it helps." It kind of did, in the most heart-racing way possible.

For a decently built guy, he seemed to have no problem holding me upright, even when I dozed off against his shoulder. For the twenty-minute train ride, Peter allowed me to get some rest, ensuring nothing could bother me.

This came to an end though, when we came to our stop. Peter kept an arm around my shoulder as we exited the train, walking me to school. I appreciated it and made sure to thank him when he dropped me off at my locker.

He was very red and stumbled over his words a little. "It's fine, I just thought- ah, you looked pretty out of it." Even though I could barely keep my eyes awake, I nodded along with his words.

"Yeah, I got no sleep last night. Anyway, I'm gonna catch up with my friends before first period starts." I'm sure he wasn't expecting it, but I leant over to press a soft kiss to his cheek. "Thank you, Peter." I didn't know if he could tell I was blushing, but it sure was obvious that he was.

And it was utterly adorable. "Y-Yeah. You're welcome, Jess." He then walked away towards the library, presumably to find his friend Ned. I was left to stow away my books in my locker, biting my lip as I tried not to think about Peter too much.
