A few months ago, my Chemistry class was taken on a trip to OSCORP. The science-affiliated company welcomed us and gave the class a tour of their headquarters. It was a fun trip, but I was distracted by the fact that our teacher made me find one boy that had gotten lost along the way. Peter Parker, I think his name was. I hadn't really noticed him before, but once I found him in a room filled with insects that were being tested on, I noticed that he was actually quite attractive. It was at this same time that we were finally introduced.

Peter must have knocked the spider habitat on his way out or something, because a few minutes after we'd joined back up with our class, I was bitten by the spider. It must have hitched a ride on his backpack, maybe even my backpack. Either way, it was painful as hell, and it got worse when I went home. I tried googling what to do, but all the spider bites that were listed on the medical site didn't sound like mine. It was growing larger, and swelling up, becoming more and more painful. My parents were away over in Australia on holiday, so I had to deal with it alone.

The hospital seemed a bit dramatic for a spider bite, so I took a couple of Paracetamol to help me sleep through the pain. Miraculously, the next morning my spider bite was almost completely gone. And I didn't notice any immediate side effects until I almost smashed my favorite mug while making my morning coffee. I'd only been holding it normally, but a few cracks started to appear along the sides which forced me to put it down. That wasn't the first weird thing to happen that day either. As soon as I got to school, I bumped into a girl who was rushing past me.

Her books had been knocked out of her hands, and without thinking, I'd grabbed all of them with wicked fast reflexes. Now, I wasn't a star athlete or anything, but I certainly wasn't super clumsy either. So the fact that I'd managed to catch every one of her books without dropping a single one was quite something. Later that day I had P.E with my other Junior friends. The senior class was joining us in the gym, but they weren't doing the same activities. We were playing baseball in the gym, and at one point a boy nearly smashed a light with one hard swing of the bat.

He was sent to the bleachers, and the next kid in our class stepped up to swing. It was a bigger more athletic boy, and he looked like he could knock me out with one punch. The pitcher threw the ball with a flourish, and with deadly precision, the boy hit the ball. It went hurtling across the gym, heading straight for me. Flash, being the pathetic attention seeking boy he is, attempted to dive in front of me in some kind of heroic act. Instead, an arm shot out, grabbing my waist and pulling me out of the way, just seconds before the ball smashed into the wall of the gym, right where I'd previously been standing.

"Hey! Jim, what did I say about hitting the ball nicely??" Coach Wilson had a go at Jim for swinging too hard, while my heart hammered in my chest. Whoever just saved me was a miracle. That ball probably would have sent me to the nurse's office with a concussion. "Thank you," Not knowing my savior, I turned around to find Peter standing there, a surprised look on his face. "I, I didn't even know what I was doing." He mumbled, and it suddenly occurred to him that his hand was still holding onto my waist. He quickly let me go, offering me a small smile. "That was a mean swing, right?" How could he be so calm? His reflexes must be on a superhuman level to have grabbed me just in time. And he wasn't even close to me before Jim had swung.
