Our group was assisted in reception by a lovely middle-aged woman. She looked a little frazzled, but otherwise well-off since she worked at a bustling hotel reception desk. "Group of eight students and one adult? I have your group listed for three suites. Each suite has three bedrooms with a queen-sized bed, a bathroom, and a kitchen facility. Here are your room passes. Please have a lovely stay." The woman handed out nine room passes, Mr Johnson leading us to one side of the crowded lobby.
"Alright, there are three rooms. That means I will be sharing with two of you, and the rest of you can sort yourselves into groups of three. I have been instructed by the school to only allow same gendered pairs," I whined softly so he couldn't hear it, but Peter could since he was standing behind me. A small smile appeared on Peter's lips when I crossed my arms. "But I think that you are mature enough to make your own decisions. We are all on the same floor, and our rooms have been booked in a row. Fifth floor, rooms 102, 103, and 104. Please, I will be lenient on this trip, but I must insist that you act like mature adults."
In Disneyland? No way. Despite my thoughts, I nodded along with his words. "Since tomorrow is our first official day in the park, you may take the rest of today as a relaxation period and enjoy the hotel's facilities." I was excited at this point. Not only could I share a room with Peter and Ned, but we were in Disneyland. Every morning we could wake up and see the park bathed in an orange glow. The thought was absolutely exhilarating. "Alright, enough of me talking. Go on and enjoy the rest of today."
We were all about to run for the elevator, but he called out to us one last time. "I will be checking to see if everyone is still here at ten pm!" Without a reply, I headed for the elevator with my suitcase in one hand, my backpack on my shoulders. Peter and Ned were on my tail, ready to see our room. The group of eight students easily fit into one of the large elevators, and I could tell that we were all ready to relax and have fun. Michelle was already reading from a book, and the cover said something about the intellectual way of life.
The elevator stopped on the fifth floor, and our groups each chose a room. Lucky for me, Peter and Ned, we got the room overlooking the pool. As well as a lovely view of the park. "Wow..." I'd dropped my suitcase in one of the bedrooms, coming to stand in front of the window. It was a rush, seeing all this and knowing we would soon be experiencing it. "Amazing view, right?" Peter came to stand at my side, one of his arms curling around my waist. "Yeah. This is unbelievable."
My stomach then grumbled, reminding me that it was, in fact, lunchtime. "Can we get food? We can go swimming after." Peter nodded, barely managing to drag his eyes away from the view to look at me. "Of course we can. Everyone else had already dispersed to look at the food places in the hotel." Since it was all expenses paid, we could order whatever we liked, as long as it was either from the park or the hotel. "I saw a Disney themed cafe down in reception. And there's a restaurant out by the pools, so we can just take our swimsuits with us," Ned called out from his own room, probably unpacking.
"Want to get food at the restaurant?" Peter nodded. "Sure. You better go change if we're swimming afterwards." A grin came to my face and I hugged Peter tightly before running to my room. My suitcase was still next to my bed, and I rifled through it to find my bikini. It was really cute with a black outline and a floral pattern. I changed into it, putting on a pair of denim shorts and a flowy cover-up over the top so I could eat lunch in the restaurant beforehand. It was a family-friendly place after all. "Jess, you ready to go or what?" It was Ned that knocked on my door as I picked out a pair of black jandals.
"Yeah, I'll be right out!" I slipped on the jandals, grabbing my phone and a slightly crinkled baseball cap that said Midtown Volleyball on it. Holding the hat between my teeth, I opened my door before putting my hair up in a ponytail. Peter and Ned were standing on the other side, obviously itching to explore. "Relax, okay? I'm here now, so we can go." Ned was the first one out of our room, and I double checked to make sure I had my room key so all of us could get back in. Peter waited in the doorway as I checked, then closing the door behind me as he left.
"Got everything?" He knew I had a tendency to forget one thing whenever I went out, whether it be my phone, my wallet, my sunglasses. Sunglasses! "No, hold on-" Peter chuckled, rolling his eyes with a smile as I rushed back in to grab a pair of aviators. Once I had found a pair, I brought an extra pair of ray-bans for Peter. I'd brought them for myself, but I was sure my boyfriend had forgotten sunglasses. "Alright, I'm ready." I handed him the ray-bans, my own aviators perched on the bridge of my nose. "Thanks, babe."
I led the way to the elevator, where Ned was waiting for us. We took the elevator down to the lobby, following the Mickey Mouse shaped signs to the pool area. There were three giant pools, each of them designated for age groups. There was also a smaller more shallow pool for the kids. A bunch of water slides were set up for the middle pool, which was full of teenagers and young adults. A slightly smaller pool was littered with the senior citizens. The largest pool was Mickey Mouse shaped, and one 'ear' had diving boards. The other ear had a bar situated in the water, with stools you could sit on to order drinks. The main part of the pool was relaxed, with thermal jets to help in relaxation.
Ned spotted the restaurant, and I could see Liz was already tackling the water slides with Betty. We spent half an hour on lunch, making sure our food had time to settle before we went swimming. There were tables all around the pool, complete with loungers and umbrellas. We set up at one of the tables, dumping our stuff there. I still felt a little bloated from lunch and decided to just relax on one of the loungers for twenty minutes or so. Peter and Ned went on the water slides and made me take videos of them on my phone.
Soon enough, I was almost asleep in the warm Californian sun. My peaceful doze was rudely interrupted by cold water droplets landing on my body and a large shadow blocking out the sunlight so it couldn't reach my skin. I opened my eyes, taking off my sunglasses to see who it was. Peter was leaning over me, soaking wet and dripping water all over me. "Come and swim with me. Please?" His puppy dog eyes look was really hard to say no to. I got up from my lounger, leaving my shorts, cover-up and hat behind at our table before following Peter into the less crowded area of the big swimming pool. The thermal jets were indeed relaxing, and I ended up holding onto Peter.
He didn't seem to mind having me on his back, just floating around aimlessly. "So, are you enjoying your trip so far?" Peter turned over so he was facing me, wrapping his arms around my waist. "I am. Do you know the best part of it?" I shook my head, relishing in the warm water. "I get to spend it with my beautiful girlfriend." He tried to kiss me, but a huge wave of water splashed the both of us. Peter huffed, looking around for the culprit. Flash was smirking to himself, Harry waving to us in a 'sorry, I don't mean for him to be an ass' kind of way.
I rolled my eyes, resting my head on Peter's shoulder. "Just ignore him." We continued to relax for another hour or so, with Peter dragging me onto the water slides with him. After a few goes, I was done with the pool for a while. My skin was pruney and gross, and I was tanned enough to last me a few days. It was getting close to dinner time when I returned to my room. I luckily still had my room key, allowing me to get in without any trouble. I took a shower to rid myself of chlorine, changing into a comfortable pair of jeans and a Captain America t-shirt.
I knew it would probably gain at least a dirty look from Peter since I knew the Avengers had split up and he had fought against Cap. Yeah, his big mouth told me the entire story. As I was blow drying my hair, Peter walked into our hotel room with Ned. I knew it was them because they were having a hearty discussion about Star Wars. "Do you guys want to go out for dinner or order room service?" Only Peter heard me over the hair dryer, and he called back with an answer of room service. It was the best option considering I was tired as hell from swimming all afternoon. "Alright, room service it is."
I finished up with drying my hair, putting it up and out of my face in a bun. Using the phone in our little kitchen area and the menu, me, Peter and Ned ordered our food. Luckily I managed to rein them in so they couldn't order too much food. It came quite fast for such a big and busy hotel, Peter sharing his burger with me since it was freaking huge. And it was shaped like Mickey Mouse's head. Ned was already asleep on the couch in our common room area outside the bedrooms by the time Peter and I had finished the Mickey Mouse burger.
I helped Peter move Ned into his own room, before we both crashed on one bed, not bothering to move into separate rooms. I woke up just enough to force Peter out of his swim trunks and into a pair of pyjamas. Of course, he was half asleep at that point and only managed to put on a pair of sweatpants before passing out again next to me. And I was too busy falling asleep to care.
