"What are you doing here?!" I said confused.
"It seems like we are living together under the same roof for the next six months." He said with a grin what made me blush. How could a simple grin made me blush? I got angry about myself.
"What are you talking about?" I still couldn't believe that he was here. And why the hell was he talking riddles? Couldn't he just spit out what was going on?
But surprisingly he was confused as well. "Didn't Adam tell you? He is our songwriter and we are living here now."
I was only able to stare at him with an open mouth. Songwriter? These news made me even forget about my nervousness about a handsome boy in front of me, in MY room!
"I'm sorry that he hasn't told you but he has promised that it would be the first thing he would tell you..."
"Wait. You said "our songwriter" before." I pointed out, realizing his words only now. "You are not the only one who moved in here?"
"Nope, Reece and George are in the garden. Shall I fetch them?" He said friendly.
"No. Who are you actually?"
"Blake."
Blake didn't ask me back because apparently Adam had told him before."Since when are you here?"
"About a week."
I mumbled an "Excuse me." and ran outside the room to find Adam. He was in the kitchen and helped Eva with the milkshake but I pushed him into the empty living room.
"Why the hell didn't you tell me?!" I spitted out.
"Tell you what-"
"You know exactly what I mean. Since when are you a freaking songwriter of a band called - what is their name?"
"New Hope Club."
"Yes!?" I waited for an explanation.
Suddenly I realized what that meant. Adam had finally gotten a job as a real songwriter of a band! That was his dream since... like ever.
Now I didn't know whether I should still be mad at him or be happy for him."This is like an intensive camp for writing new songs... they are at the beginning of their carrer and I teach them a bit."
Adam had studied English Lyrics, therefore at least that point made sense to me."But hasn't a band like ... concerts or something? Traveling around the world?" I asked, trying to understand.
"Yes of course. Sometimes they aren't here for a weekend but most of the time they are here. We already decided to do this in a season when not that much is going on. And yeah, now they are here."
I sighed. How could I ever relax again when three handsome boys are around me 24/7, a very flirty one included?
"I'm sorry, I should have told you but there wasn't the right moment..." he tried to defend himself.
Eva came in and asked if everything was fine and gave us our milkshakes. I confirmed that I was fine and Adam insisted to introduce me to the rest of the band.
Eva, who obviously had known about ... the new situation, whispered in my ear. "Seems like you'd have to get used to boys around you." She gave me a wink and added "I'm so jealous!"
At this sentence I had to laugh ironically. "Oh, I promise, you can stay here whenever you want, I've no problem with that. I'd be very glad actually."
"I'll take the offer." She whispered back with a grin. It was obvious that she had a crush in one of them. It must have been a big surprise for her that they moved into my home.
Nevertheless I hoped that I wouldn't regret my offer. Hopefully she hadn't planned anything with me. At least her grin spoke volumes against my hopes. But I just rolled my eyes.
As we walked outside I recognized the two boys sitting on a garden chair as Blake's friends who I've seen in the shoe shop one year ago. My nervousness grew.
Adam introduced us and I had to admit that they seemed to be pretty nice so far. We had a nice chat in which they where the one who talked the majority of the time because I was too shy plus I didn't have had something exciting to talk about. But I was very glad that no one asked me about my last year.
We spent the rest of the day together in the garden until Eva left in the evening, when the mosquitos got too annoying outside. We decided to go to bed as well where I made sure that I would be the last one who went into the bathroom.
Since Adam's house had three empty rooms on the second floor, each of the boys had an own room to sleep but I was sure that they all went into the same room, the one right next to Adam's room.
If I didn't know it better I would have believed that they were gay or something.
But did I actually know it better?
Maybe they were just childish?I shook my head and tried to care about my own business. And those business were to sleep. I just had have almost one year where I slept properly, without nightmares. I hoped that I would keep those nights.
I stepped outside the bathroom and went along the floor in my pyjama. I passed Adam's room which was right next to the bathroom, then the room where the boys slept -I could hear a snore through the door-, then the two empty rooms and then I finally reached my room.
When I lied in my bed I prayed for a calm night. The nightmares had been horrible a year ago. I really didn't want them to come back.
When you experienced such horrible nights you appreciate every hour of calm sleep. Honestly. After about an hour I finally fell asleep.
Unfortunately the last year in England and my prayers hadn't helped. I had the same nightmares like before I had left. It was the same horror again.I woke up every hour, wet from my own sweat and out of breath. I couldn't turn off the light again because I was too afraid. Therefore I "slept" with the lights on and they contributed to an even more fitful night.
It was a long first night indeed ...
