Lauren had the day off from work and decided to spend the day with her son. They went to the park and got lunch at her favorite place downtown and Taylor had a blast. The two of them took a nap on the couch and they were now watching Blues Clues on the tv waiting for Camila to come home. Lauren heard the car pull in the driveway. Juju climbed off her feet and ran over to the door.
Camila pulled into the driveway after spending a little bit of time at the college in her office. She didn't spend much time there on Fridays but it gave her some extra office hours for her students that ran tight schedules during the week. She gathered her bag and purse before climbing out.
Camila walked back down to the end of the driveway to grab the mail from the box before going up and inside. "Baby, I'm home!" She called out before she lit up when Taylor came running out of the living room to hug her.
Lauren smiled as she heard the front door open followed by her wife's angelic voice. She helped Taylor down from the couch as he took off in a full sprint toward the front door. She chuckled and got up, following her family into the kitchen.
"Mami home!" He announced too. Camila leaned down to kiss the top of his head as best as she could before going toward the kitchen to put the mail down and sort through it.
"Welcome home, babe." She said softly before placing a kiss on Camila's cheek.
Camila glanced up when Lauren came into the kitchen, too. "Hey," she smiled and turned her head some to catch her lips. "How was your day?" She asked softly before looking down at Taylor and Juju who both ran back into the living room to play.
Lauren rested her hand on Camila's lower back as she stood next to her. She watched as Taylor ran back to the living room, Juju following right behind. "My day was good." She said softly. "Were you busy today?" She asked as she gently rubbed her hand over her wife's lower back.
Camila shrugged some. "It wasn't that bad. A few students wandered in with questions about their final projects. But nothing more than normal on a Friday." She leaned against the island counter as she sorted through the mail. Two bills and an advertisement. The last envelope had her tilt her head some as she saw her maiden name hand written on it. "Did he have fun at the park?" Camila looked back up at her wife as she blindly started to open up the envelope to see what was inside of it.
Lauren looked at the mail as Camila sorted through it. "Yeah. He had a blast. Then we went to the Old Spaghetti Factory for lunch. He loved it." She said as she pulled her wife into her side. Lauren glanced at the envelope in the woman's hand. "What's that?" She asked curiously. It had her wife's maiden name, which the woman hadn't used in years.
Camila pouted to her wife when she heard where they went. "Please tell me you brought me something from there. I love that place."
Lauren smiled as she listened to her wife talk about her day. She kissed the woman's cheek before moving to sit on the bar stool across from her wife. "I did. I brought home your favorite. It's in the fridge." She said as she rested her head on her hand and looked adoringly at her wife.
Camila brightened up some at hearing that Lauren brought her something back. "Thank you, baby." She looked back down at the envelope in her hand as she pulled out a little card with her high school insignia on the front of it. She slowly smiled as she opened up the invitation to look over it. "It's for my high school reunion." Camila stated as she looked at the date on the invite. She'd been so caught up with everything else that she didn't even think about it being 10 years since she graduated high school.
