Just as I was about to reach for my phone it stopped vibrating. I looked down to see who it was.

It was an unknown number. I decided to call back anyway.
It rang for a few seconds.
" Hello." The person said.
" Hi, you just called me ?" I asked.
" Wasup it's Dave. I'm calling about Kari." He said
" Is she okay? Did she get hurt? " I asked.
"Nah she's straight. I'm calling because she hasn't seen you in years, and I wanted you guys to reconnect." He said.
I wanted to laugh. So his mother didn't tell him I've been seeing Kari this whole time. Well, let me play along for her sake.
" I would love that actually," I responded.
" Okay cool. Just make sure you don't bring your hœ antics with you." He said.
" My what? How dare you? You should be the last one talking about some damn hœ antics you thót." And I hung up the phone after that.
See I thought we could have a calm civil conversation but then he had to start his foolishness.
It's not like that was my only chance to see Kari anyway. I see my baby almost every day.
