"Want to meet your daughter?"
The five letter words caused Lucas to freeze again. Meet his daughter. He had a daughter. He knew he had a daughter but still, he had a daughter. How was he going to tell his mother? Shaking off the thought for later. Lucas nodded, his head bobbing up and down not trusting his voice.
"Wait here," Maya whispered and reluctantly let go of his hand.
As Maya walked towards of her daughter's room. She couldn't believe that not only did Lucas now know but he just said he loved her. As friend? More than a friend? What about his girlfriend? Maybe she was wrong and it wasn't his girlfriend? What was going to happen now? Aside from the fact that Skylar was going to be meeting her dad.
Crap, Maya stopped.
She never told Skylar of her father. She never spoken I'll about Lucas, never. She just didn't speak of him. She made sure she never spoke around him and kept pictures of the core four out of her sight. How was she going to explain to a two year old that her dad was here that she met yesterday?
Telling people is hard, Maya groaned walking again.
Going to her daughter's door she paused in hopes that her daughter was still asleep. Opening the door slowly she inwardly groaned again when she saw her daughter twirling around the room with her Belle Costume she some how managed to put on. As soon as Skye saw her mother her movements still and a winning smile appeared on her face as she ran, danced, towards her mother.
"Mommy!" Skylar shouted jumping into Maya's waiting arms "Can I come out my room now."
"Yes you can." Maya smiled picking her up and nuzled her close as she wrapped her small andros around her "I also have someone I want you to meet."
"Meet?" Skylar asked confused looking at her mother. As they walked out to the livingroom Skylar looked confused "Man from the park?"
"Mhmm," Maya nodded cautiously walking over to Lucas "Lucss, This is Skylar, Skye this is Lucas he's your um..." Maya gulped, just spit it out Hart "Yo-Your,.. Your um.... Um... Uhhhhh."
"Maya?" Lucas wondered tilting his head
"Father." Maya spat out and winced "Um.."
The room grew quiet. Two pair of eyes swiveled to look at the little girl who looking confused and also hurt. Lucas glanced at his daughter briefly before looking at Maya who didn't know whether to cry with joyous tears or tears of sorrow. Deciding to make the first move. Lucas gave Skye a small smile.
"Skylar? What a pretty name." Lucas told her hoping it would ease up the awkwardness.
"You sound funny." Skylar replied shyly hiding her face in her mother's hair.
Lucas nearly wanted to roll his eyes because what was it with these woman with there disrespect for country? Instead though Lucas snorted along with Maya who was snickering as if she had just told the most hilarious joke. Glancing at her. Maya softly smiled back at him causing him to relax a little due to the awkwardness that was going on.
"I'm from Texas." Lucas told her.
"Texas?" Skylar asked curiously and looked at Maya "You said you hated-"
"Wow," Maya spoke over her sitting her on her feet "Would you look at that. Time for the adults to talk and the child to hush-hush."
"But I-"
Giving her a look that instantly silent her toddler. Lucas looked amused but also wonder. This was his child. He never pictured , he'll he never thought. The he could create something as perfect as her. Looking exactly like her mother. Blue eyes with hazel specks. Short blonde curly hair but he could tell dispite her looks she was all him, with her mother's seemingly attitude as the two glared at her mother. Finally the little girl rolled her eyes huffing as if she was 10 times her age. Looking away from her eyes landed on Lucas. Her curious blue eyes looking at him searching.
