Mya felt a warm pair of lips on her shoulder. With a happy content sigh. She pulled Josh's arm around her for him to place over her waist.
Maya wasn't going to lie and say these past few weeks have been perfect. She hadn't talked to Lucas since the big fight and Rebecca was leaving her alone. Keeping her word that as long as if she left Lucas alone she would leave her alone and while Maya wasn't doing it for her. She was glad for the small pause on the bickering. As for Josh he was actually making her not regret bringing him back into her life. She remembered why exactly she fell for him the first time. His determination and ability of planning. Which had her going back to Miami, go to college. And get married with kids and while only one, college, was on her plan. She accepted his ability to distract her.
While her mother was indeed pissed. Not only for the fact that she let him in the house but because she didnt want him to hurt Skylar. While she did carr about her well being, she had told Maya that she could basically take care of herself. She was mostly worried about her granddaughter. Skylar didn't seem to be happy about it either and was becoming a bit more distant. Mostly becuase she missed Lucas, Zay and aunt Riley. Which she was vocal about.
Maya hadn't even realize she began to spend less and less time with Riley since the girl was friends with both of them. While she wanted to know what Lucas problem was she didn't want to know. He had done his damage and didn't deserve to speak out. Well he did but she didn't want to hear any of it. Maybe letting Skylar know who her dad was a mistake. As much as the little vocally said she missed her Maya just couldn't. Not after what he had done. He could choke for all she cared.
"Penny for your thoughts?" Josh mumbled tiredly pulling her closer to him.
Maya looked at her closes door thoughtfully wondering if she should tell him or not"Thinking of Miami. I missed Dylan and-"
"And?" Josh repeated in a harsh whisper causing Maya stumble over her words.
"And..." Maya started hesitantly sitting up. Josh propped up on his elbows "You, you remember what you did to me? Last year?"
"Ugh, are you really bringing that up?" Josh groaned loudly plopping back on the bed.
Maya looked down at him with a frown as she thought back to the day that he had hurt her "Yes I am."
Josh tried not to roll his eyes. He didnt know why but this wasn't the Maya he had known. The rebel that sprayed painted the park. The rebel that snuck in a concert when she was five months pregnant. The one who did more kissing than talking. This one was now a 24/7 mother and worst, she always wanted to talk about feelings. While it was easier than he imagined to get her trust back and surprisingly back in her bed. Mostly becuase he didn't rent a hotel room. He was expecting more action from there bodies than with there mouths. Not even the fun way. She was either talking or sleeping or cleaning or soing her homework. The most be recieved were small simple pecks on the cheek. Worst, she expected him to help. And now she was harassing him about the past.
"I'm not doing this Maya," Josh told her lamely sitting up again. This time he stared at her. Looking in the soft blue eyes that held both mischief and a new look of hurt. Just like a lost puppy. "Awe," Josh said pitiedly stroking her cheek softly "My advice? Get over it. Get over him. Now, little ferret. He'll only hurt you."
Like you?
Maya thought softly to herself but didn't voice it. Instead she let him lean over kissing her softly on the mouth and lay back down. Mumbling about sleep and how she should make breakfast. Looking at him in disbelief. She began to wonder if she had a thing for men who treated her like crap.
"Mommy?" Skylar whispered, opening the door. Josh sighed out annoyed while Maya frowned concerned "My tummy hurts."
"Your tummy hurts?" Maya repeated concerned making her way to her. Her tummy had no reason to be hurting. She ate her regular food and fell asleep. Suddenly Maya shuddered at the thought of the flu that was going around due to the air getting colder. Reaching over she touched her daughter's head and frowned at the warmth "You don't feel too hot but you do feel warm. Let me go get the thermometer."
