Perfect.

That was how Maya Hart described her life at the moment. Utterly, perect. The two were officially together now, sorta. Maya had yet to tell Josh, who was gone despite it being a holiday break. Apperantly through his rush of finding Maya he didn't exactly tell anyone. Which resulted him to fly back to his school and apartment to check if everything was alright. Even though it was her birthday and Christmas was next the week after. Maya couldn't be more glad about having the month to herself or herself and Lucas.

Skylar too of course

They were together though. Despite her not having telling Josh and don't get her wrong. She did try to tell him but he had left before she could and didn't answer her calls. The onoy reason she knew he was gone was from the note in her bed saying he was leaving. It was the day after she and Lucas had made up. Josh wasn't home when she wanted to tell him ans he was gone the next day while she was in school before she could.

Maya didn't care though. Things seemed better without him here. Lucas was everything that Josh wasn't. He had let Maya sleep in occasionally. At first she was nervous since he never had taken care of Skhkad but once she showed him how. He seemed to pick it up easily and Skylar had adored him. Ever since she learned that Lucas was her father. The young girl also tried to spend every waking moment with him. Lucas had let her do things that Maya would never do. Like help cook in the kitchen in fear of her getting burned. He taught her how to play football despite her bad coorination. He even took her places like the park or the Zoo.

Lucas also helped Maya with little things as well like cooking, washing the dishes, or vaccuming among with house. He came over with a new movie almost every day and spent the night every other day. While with Josh it would've been annoying but with Lucas it seemed more relaxing. They banter of course but it always ended up with them playing with each other.

It felt natural.

Lucas even helped Maya with things that didn't have to do with Skylar. When Lucas popped the big question; Will you be my girlfriend. Maya subconsciously thought that Lucas was only with her because of their daughter but being the huckleberry he is. She should have had known better. He brought her her favorite ice cream. He complimented her when she looked a mess. He helped her with her homework and listened when she complained about the newest Riley incidents.

As Maya kissed his hand softly as they curled up on the sofa. Though Maya was practically laying on top of Lucas. Which hee didnt seem to mind. Gently stroking her hair or sending her small smiles as she looked his way causing her heart to leap. The covers thrown over them as they watched Skylar's new Alice in Wonderland movie. The cartoon was Maya's favorite so while Skylar was taking her afternoon nap. The two, mostly Maya with Lucas who reluctantly agreed, decided to watch it. Yeah, it was perfect.

Until her phone her decided to bing.

With a childish whine, Maya looked over at it before completely inoring it. Skylar was asleep and this was one of the few moments they had for themselves. The volume had been turned off all evening but she had turned it back on to hear the alarm go off from Skylar's nap. She had seen the dozens of messages on her phone but choosed to ignored it. She even stole Lucas's phone knowing him enough to know that he would politely excuse himself and leave. The Huckleberry.

"Aren't you going to get that?" Lucas murmured softly kissing her hair.

"No," Maya whispered, snuggling closer to him breathing in the familiar earthy smell he had "They'll leave a message."

She should've known. She should've known the moment when she ssid that Lucas would do this. As if she had told some joke. He had chuckled softly before leaning up. Bringing her with him as he grabbed the phone from the coffee table. As Maya pouted at the momentarily breeze he caused from movong the blanket. She went to to grab the phone from him.
