'Lucas! Lucas!" Zay yelled running down the hallway. Pushing the lingering students out of his way to get to his best friend "Lucas!"
Lookong up from his locker where the team was talking to him about the game next week. He eyed his friend who seemed to be running from someone or something. He sighed, if he did anything again to ruin his reputation he was going to kick his ass himself. There were only so many times he could transfer.
"Zay," Lucas sighed "Whatever or whoever it is you're going to have to figure out yourself bro. I can't keep-"
"Shut up," Zay breathed tired trying to catch his breath. Waiting for him to, Lucas closed his locker as Zay jerked his thumb from where he came from "Maya... Rebecca... ass kicked!"
"What?" Lucas looked at him confused of his language.
"Maya's kicking your girlfriend's ass!" Zay exclaimed grabbing his arm "Come on dude!"
23 Hours Earlier
"Mommy! Look at me!" Skylar squealed poking her head from inside the make shift tent they, mostly Lucas and Skylar, spent on making.
Maya smiled and waved at her daughter. She should've known with Lucas it would be anything but a small quick lunch. No, she should've known with Skylar it wouldn't have been a small lunch. As soon as the little girl open her eyes. She couldn't help but look around the house with anything but wonder.
Maya couldn't blame her though. It was bjgger than any house she ever set foot in. Much different than there apartment or tiny house they lived in in Miami. The way the door opened that chorus bells belonged to. Maya herself was starstruck by how ginormously grand it was inside. With a wide opening with a potted plant. Two stairs cases leading up to the second floor. The double doors that Maya knew had the dining area. The quaint livingroom that had a warm plushed sofa and a massive Tv. Which had quadrouple glass doors that lead to the massive yard with the 12 foot pool. Not mentioning the other pool that was inside of the house.
As they went to the green and white marbled kitchen with the island. She knew her daughter was hooked. She took one look at her excited face that gleamed as if she was waiting for a princess to pop out. It didn't help with the fact that the food Lucas had made for them made her and Skylar. Made her groan with delight of soft and warm it was. Making her remember that ane wasn't the only cook in the house. While her Maya claimed she knew how to cook. Lucas's meals weren't like the usual mush mac and cheese or over cooked spaghetti she made that usually ended up on the floor.
"I never want to leave!" Skylar squealed turning back to go inside her tent.
It wasn't the first time the little girl had said that. Lucas had offered Maya, who happily turn his offer down, to give Skylar a tour of his house. Expect Skylar had different plans as she jumped down from the table she was seated in and ran straight to Lucas jumpin in his arms. Startling the young father but bringing a smug look on his face that clearly said 'I won, haha!'.
Maya couldn't help but agree though as soon as they went to his movie room. Aka Lucas's man cave with giant bean bags that Maya usually got lost in when she used to come over ans the giant movie theater like tv. She knew she wasn't going anywhere. So, she simply stopped fighting. She sat Skylar on her lap whom demanded to watch Frozen on the big screen. Having her mother's vocals as she screamed/sang Let it Go at the top of her lungs. Maya didn't even protest as Lucas went to his popcorn machine and made them popcorn.
Or when he casually threw his arm over her shoulders causing her to blush instead of flinging it off.
To be honest it felt nice. For a moment she wondered if this what her life would've been like if she never had left and stayed. The three of them downstairs watching movies. Playing corny games like shoots and latters. Watching Skylar run up and down the stairs recreating the scene from beauty and the beast with Lucas on the other side of the stair case. Watching him pretend that her tiny feet were hurting him as she danced on his. Causing her little laugh to fill the air. To play hide and seek in the large house or build a fort. She couldn't help but wonder if it would've been if she had given him a chance.
