"Riley, What's going on?" Maya demanded, staring at the little girl who was now half hidden behind Shawn. "And why is that little girl calling your mom, mommy?"
"Because," Riley bit her lip shifting awkwardly. Looking down at the girl whom looked confused at what was going on "She's my little sister. Maya, meet the newest member of the Matthews family." Riley said gesturing the small child "Her name is Gabi."
Maya felt her her jaw widen. Newest member of the family!? Why hadn't she told her before! Looking at the little girl. She guessed she looked like Topanga. Her green eyes were a little darker than Topanga's and Auggie's though. And while her hair was dark it, had a tinge of red that the Matthews didn't have. Honestly, she looked adopted. If it wasn't for the tan skin than maybe.
"Or," Shawn said breaking Maya out of her stare "She's my neice or well, friend's kid that I'm watching while they're on there second anniversary. Who is not thier child. Also, her name is Wyatt."
"Wait, What!?" Maya asked dumbfounded and glared at Riley pointing an accusing finger at her "You lie!"
Riley snorted "Your face was totally worth it."
"She also lied," Topanga said making her way to the kitchen " Because she said you two had promised to watch her while Shawn and I made dinner but seeing the lie. I'm guessing she forgot to mention it."
Babysit while... what? "Yeah she did." Maya accusingly glaring at her friend. She thought they were going to talk to Topanga.
At Riley's puppy dog face. Maya couldn't help but roll her eyes. Of course she was bamboozled by her friend to watch another kid. As if one wasn't enough! As she thought about it. Skylar did love playing with other kids and they wouldn't be technically watching them. Put the tv on for Skylar and her kid would be set for atleast a good hour or so. Maya turned her head to Skykar who seemed to dissappear but Maya coould see her light up sketchers hiddened behind the sofa. She guessed that her little girl was to nervous with all the unfamiliar faces.
Groaning loudly with her head tilted back. Maya reluctantly agreed causing Riley to squeal and throw her arms around her neck "Yeah Yeah," Maya mumbled removing her hands "You still lie."
"I make it up to you?" Riley promised though it sounded like a question.
"Yeah you are," Maya nodded and turned to were Skylar hid. Tilting her head as of it would let her see past the sofa "Skylar? Honey?"
"Yes mommy?" Skylar whispered back causing the room to quiet down. Maya could practically hear the questions in the air from both adults due to the surprised gasp.
"Can you please come out here and meet mommy's friends?" Maya asked softly "I promise they're just as nice as Auntie Riley."
What felt like an eternity but was only a minute. Skylar poked her little head out from behind the sofa before slowly crawling out. Standing up, Skylar looked around the room shyly before running to her mother hiding behind her legs. With a small smile, Maya bent over and picked the little girl neck. Holding her close as she out her face in Maya's shoulder.
"Skylar," Maya began hoping it would bring her little girl out. When she didn't she jostled her "You can't meet anyone until you let them see you. We have a little girl here who wants to play with you. "
At the word of a little girl being here. Skylar's head instantly popped out surprised. "A little girl?" Skylar asked softly and looked over at Wyatt "Can we have a tea party?"
"If they have a tea set." Maya laughed softly bouncing the little girl on her hip causing Skylar to squeal with laughter as she tickled her.
"We do!" Riley beamed excited and frowned at Maya's questioning face "What? Remeber tea time when we were little?"
