Maya shut her phone off when it rung again.
"Who was that mommy?" Skylar wondered as Maya carefully painted her tiny toenails pink.
"Just a bill," Maya told her "They keep bugging me about Grandma Katy's car."
"Is it ever going to be fix?" Skylar pouted causing Maya to look up at her "I don't like taking the bus anymore."
"Sometimes we have to do things we don't like to do babe," Maya told her closing the lid "All done."
Ever since Rebecca's weak threat. It somehow opened her eyes. She didn't need a jealous girlfriend in her life. She was sure she could take her on if she needed to but with a daughter. Maya couldnt risk getting expelled or worsr. As the weekend finally came. All she wanted to do was to focus on was her little girl. No noys, no girls, no much needed to be done homework. She had the whole day planned out for them and drama was not on the list. She was taking it to her advantage.
"Mommy?" Skylar began after watching Maya fan at her toes for a little bit "When is Lucas coming back over?"
The words causing Maya to stop "He's not coming over toots." Maya finally answered her and smiled sadly when her little girl frowned looking down at her dress "Hey now, Don't you want to spend the whole day with mommy?"
"No." Skylar said bluntly not noticing how the way it came out causing Maya to roll her eyes.
'Well thanks squirt." Maya told her gently ruffling her untamed hair.
"Maya?"
Katy knocked softly on the door causing the two girls on the bed to look over. The great thing about her mother's job was that she didn't have to work on the weekends anymore. She had her days to relax and sleep in but seeing her in a casual blouse and jeans. Maya had looked confused. She didn't remember her mother saying she was going out and those were different from the usual grandma pajamas. Not that she'd ever tell her that she had usually worn.
"Yeah Ma?" Maya asked sitting up more.
"Can I borrow your sweater? That looks like a jacket but it's really a sweater? I have a dinner date with my boss so you have to make dinner tonight." Katy told her walking straight to her closet.
"Oolala a dinner date." Maya teased causing Skylar to giggle.
"Look gandma! My toes are prettyful!" Skylar beamed wiggling her toes with a giggle. The thought about Lucas already forgotten already she showed off her toes.
"I see." Katy smiled at her granddaughter and rolled her eyes at her daughter "And it's not like that, she's a girl."
"Welcome to 2017 mom." Maya told her smirking causing Katy to roll her eyes again.
"Anyway, I have a dinner date with my boss. Who is my friend. That's a girl. Who's very much straight. That invited me to dinner whom I'm not dating. She's actually real nice. Also, It maybe not be a school night but I want you in bed by 9 okay." Katy told her and grinned winning when she found the sweater "Ah-Ha!"
"Mom I'm not five." Maya laughed then pointed at her sweater "And I want that back cleaned."
"Then I want my shoes back." Katy shot back sticking her tongue out before returning to her actual adultself "Will you be fine for dinner?"
"I'll order something." Maya waved her off.
"We going out to eat?" Skylar grinned at the thought of getting dressed up.
"No baby, order in. They bring the food to us." Maya explained gently to her.
"Oh," Skylar frowned "I'll wants to go outs momma. Not to stay in."
