Maya sniffled sitting outside the principle office. She wasn't a crier but once she learned she was getting two days of OSS and a week worth of detention. She couldn't help the tears fall. Stupid Rebecca and her stupid possè ruining everything. She had heard the other four had a week of OSS and three days of ISS for starting the fight but it wasn't enough for Maya who had been outted from there ignorancy.  Now everyone knew her secret. Her daughter was now labeled as a bastard.

"How - How's your face?"

Maya looked up at the voice. Her eyes traveling up the long body to the kind face of her, former? Best friend. Her face hesitant as she held a first aid kit in her hands and an ice pack. How's your face? The first words coming out of her mouth since she hadn't  spoken to Maya since she came to the school. Remembering where the tall bulky brunette clipped her brow. She touched it and winced at the stinging cut. Surprised to see blood on her fingers.

"Better than my back." Maya mumbled wiping her hands on her jeans. Looking at her friend who still stood there. She eyed her "What are you doing here Riles?"

"I've always taken care of you when you were hurt," Riley told her with a soft smile sitting beside her in the empty lined up chairs "Remember? In second grade when Mark Whitherspoon threw a soccer ball at my head and you punched him in the face despite the fact he was ten times biger then us?"

"Wasn't he held back?" Maya thought and laughed at the memory "He liked you and threw the ball to get your attention. He slapped me back and busted my lip."

"And you broke his nose," Riley mused opening the kit taking out some rubbing alcohol "You didn't even cry but he did. You just gave me a hug and said everything was going to be alright."

"You took my hand and took me to the nurse office and demanded to help clean me up. Your dad saved my ass." Maya smiled remembering Cory coming up to the Elementary school with a heavily pregnant Topanga "He saved me again."

"Yeah." Riley laughed softly and held up the wipe "May I?"

As Maya nodded she leaned over to let the other girl gently dab at  the cut causing Maya to hiss at the burning feeling. Murmuring an apology, Riley continued to clean her up. Maya could help but stare at her friend. She was still beautiful. She was wearing Make-up now but it was light and complimented her face well. Her brown hair was cut short to her shoulders and she had bangs. She could see a hint of blonde streaked in it. Her cooky clothes were now replaced with a plaid skit and a blazer making her look more professional.

Maya wasn't the only one who had changed over the years.

"Rebecca's a jerkface," Okay not that much had changed. "You could've told me you know," Riley suddenly whispered bringing Maya out of her daze. At her questioning look she continued "About your child. A girl right?"

"Skylar." Maya whispered.

"Skylar," Riley repeated with a smile "That's beautiful."

Maya grinned, she knew it was beautiful "Thank you."

"I can see the conceding in your eyes Hart," Riley teased with a grin before it slipped off her face "I bet she's beautiful. A little of you, a little of Lu-"

"Riles," Maya closed her eyes, she didn't want to hear her thoughts on the boy they both loved. Her breaking her best friends heart "Please."

"It's okay Maya," Riley gently told her "I don't love him anymore. To be honest I don't think I've ever loved him. I've been blind with my own feelings I didn't noticed how he used to stare at you. You weren't the only one staring at him but I was so caught up with the thought of him loving me. The perfect fairy-tale with a prince that falls in love with the pretty princess."
