*Trinity's PoV*
No.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Please, no.
If Louis had found the journal, nothing good could come from it. Sure, his temper may not have been as bad as it had been when I initially met him, but he could still be set off easily. And if he read what I had written in the journal - if he had found out what my mother was threatening to do - there was no doubt in my mind that he would not have been able to contain himself.I remained frozen, but only for a second. I pushed myself off of the floor, getting onto my feet and leaving the room. My hands were shaking as I tried to hold on to the banister of the stairs. I reached the bottom of the stairs and grabbed my coat, which I had left there, and made my way to the door that I entered through not even ten minutes ago.
It was only when I closed the door behind me that I realised I had left my keys inside and just locked myself out. The only way I would be getting back in was if I found Louis, which gave me only more encouragement to get to him as soon as possible. My eyes looked to where Louis' car was usually parked, and I realised that it wasn't there. Louis had obviously taken it - how had I not noticed its absence when I had come back from the café?
Then it dawned on me - where the hell was my car? Had I left it at my mother's a while ago? Had Louis dropped it in for a service without telling me? Had he gotten rid of it? Who knew.
My hands ran themselves through my hair as I searched my mind for an idea. I patted the pockets of my jacket and sighed in relief as it appeared I hadn't left my phone inside. I took it out and scrolled through my contacts until I found the number I was looking for.
It rang three times before someone picked up.
"Hey, loser," the familiar voice rang down the line.
"Hey, Chloe," I greeted with a half-smile on my face, "I need a favour."
I decided there was no point in beating around the bush.
"What's up, sugar puff?" she drawled.
"Long story short, Louis has gone somewhere and I really need to get to him, but he took his car and I can't for the life of me remember where mine is, so I would really appreciate it if you could come pick me up in your car and give me a lift."
I waited for her response, crossing my fingers.
"Sure, I'll be there in ten," she said easily, "Oh, by the way, you left your car here. Do you want me to pick you up in that? Then you could keep it. I mean, I'd have to sort out a lift home but-"
Oh, so that's where I had left it.
"No, I'll get it a different time, can you just bring your car?" I asked, trying to keep my tone unrushed. I didn't want to seem rude, but I really needed to get to Louis.
"Yeah, sure," she mumbled, clearly taken aback by my hurriedness.
"Thanks, I'll see you in ten," I mumbled, hanging up the phone and bringing it away from my ear slowly.
My breaths were shallow and I could feel the thumping of my heart in my ears. I was all too familiar with what Louis could do when he was angry and, as much as I disliked my mother, I wouldn't want anyone to feel the wrath of his fury.
I shakily pressed the buttons on my phone, typing out what had happened into a text message and sending it to my father without a thought. I was a mess and if I wasn't going to be able to handle the situation clearly, I needed someone else with me who could.
