*Trinity's PoV*

I spun on my heel and took in the figure at my door. He was about 5 inches taller than me and his head was capped with a grey beanie. He had a sharp jaw outline which wore rough stubble. His eyes were a piercing blue, radiating secrecy and something I couldn't quite put my finger on.... they looked guarded. I knew that look because I had worn it for the last few years, too.

His hair, peeking out from below his crinkled beanie, was a lush brown, dishevelled and messy. He leaned with one arm against the doorframe, his other hand stuffed lazily into the pocket of his black jeans. His black hoodie lay slung open, revealing a simple charcoal v-neck t-shirt and a tattoo scrawled across his chest. The bunched up sleeves uncovered many winding tattoos which made my eyes widen. My eyes finally came to rest on his feet, which were encased in a pair of black Vans.

He cleared his throat, trying to shrug me out of my blatant stare. I immediately snapped my eyes back up to meet his steely blue ones and I opened my mouth to say something but nothing would come out.

"Save it," he scoffed, before I could summon my voice back to me, "I'm just here to tell you that I'm your 'Mr. Not So Perfect'. I can tell by your face that you're shocked, although I'm not sure why. I warned you I'd be like this; I warned you not to write back. But what did you go and do? Yeah, you wrote back. So I thought maybe, just maybe, if I dropped by and paid a visit, you might finally come to the startling realisation that I'm most definitely not perfect, and you most definitely don't wanna get involved with someone like me. Because once you get involved, there's no going back."

Rant over, he stood up straight, spun on his heel and stalked off away from my house, his hands buried in his pockets. I was left speechless as his retreating figure got further and further away from my doorstep.

I heard a car door slam and I was snapped out of my daze. It was as if that car door was a switch; it triggered something in my mind, set off some chain of thoughts like an alarm. I felt an overwhleming impulse to follow him.

So, just like the past couple of days, I gave into the craving. I snatched the keys of the car that my mum had bought for me in anticipation of my eighteenth birthday off the hall table, shrugged a hoodie on over my pyjamas and shut the front door quietly behind me, as not to alert the intriguing stranger to my presence as I followed him.

I was only 17, but I'd recently passed my driving test, which came in handy for days like these, when you wanted to stalk random strangers. I heard the revving of an engine and saw a black Audi speed off, away from my house.

Figuring that was him, I hopped lightly into my not-so-sleek Ford Fiesta and started the engine, ready for my mission. I crept out of the driveway and flew down the road, determined to keep his car in sight. Once I had caught up, I waited a safe distance behind him, avoiding getting too close in case I would be recognised.

It went on like this for about twenty minutes, and then he turned down a lane. I almost lost sight of him as he turned off the road, I couldn't turn behind him with all the traffic on the opposite side of the road. Panicking, I took a rather risky turn and was rewarded with a loud 'beeeeep' from the driver that had to emergency brake to avoid crashing into me. Jeez, Trinity, I thought to myself, Keep driving like that and you won't have your licence for long.

I felt proud of myself for managing to keep track of him for the whole journey, but my heart sunk downwards in my chest as I saw him driving through a set of large electric gates, which swiftly closed behind him. What was I supposed to do now?! They were lined either side by a large stone wall, so I couldn't climb over.

I drove up the narrow lane and pulled my car to a stop in front of the gates. Cautiously, I clambered out of my car and walked over to the control panel beside them. There had to be some way to open them, right? My fingers skimmed over the buttons, trying to decode the function of each one.

I jumped involuntarily, my heart hammering hard in my chest, as I heard a voice coming though the speaker beside the panel.

"Well, well, well," it mimicked in the voice I had used this morning, "Would you look who it is."
