*Chloe's PoV*

I trailed off in my words as I noticed that Trinity had stopped listening to me completely. I followed her gaze and and my breath hitched in my throat as I saw what she was staring at. There Louis was, with a petite brunette at his side. They were walking down the main aisle of the shopping centre, Louis eyes' focused on the ground, and the girls' eyes focused on him.

I shook my head in disgust. He really was an absolute idiot. He had asked me to help him out with Trinity, but there was only so much I could do. If he really wanted this to work out, like he had told me he had, then he needed to get his shit together.

"I'll be back in a minute," I mumbled, patting Trinity on the shoulder as I brushed past her, "Stay right here."

I strode towards Louis, brows furrowed and fists curled into balls at my side. His eyes were still trained on the floor, so he didn't see me approach. I took him by surprise, shoving both of his shoulders back forcefully with my hands. He stumbled, looking pissed off, but his expression became that of confusion when he recognised me. He opened his mouth, presumably to ask a question, but I didn't give him the option

"What the fuck are you doing?!" I hissed, staring him straight in the eye, "Are you stupid?! Trinity is right over there, and you're here walking around with this tramp?!"

I gestured loosely to the girl who was standing beside him. Her mouth dropped open, but I wasn't focusing on whether I had offended her or not; I didn't really care.

"No offence," I muttered in the girl's direction, trying to be as civil as possible.

Louis shook his head a couple of more times before responding.

"Chloe, what the fuck are you talking about?!" He said incredulously.

"You ask me to keep an eye on her for you and that you want to make it work, and you let her leave without saying anything. Then, as if that wasn't bad enough, you turn up the next day with another girl, which makes it look like she didn't, or doesn't, mean shit to you," I barked, not even bothering to contain my annoyance.

He looked at me, eyes wide and eyebrows up, attempting to take in what I had just said. He peered around me and it was obvious he was trying to find Trinity in the mass of heads that ambled around the shopping centre. It was also obvious that Trinity had moved from the place I had left her, even though I had instructed her not to. If she had remained in that place, Louis would have spotted her instantly, so the fact that he was still searching for her told me that she had most definitely moved.

"Look, Chloe," he began, but I hadn't got time to hear his excuse.

"No, Louis," I responded, cutting him off before he had even begun, "Now, thanks to you, I have to look for Trinity. But well done for completely screwing up the best thing that ever happened to you, well fucking done."

I paused for a minute to gauge his reaction. However, he held the guarded expression that he had held the whole time when we were growing up together, the guarded expression that had finally been replaced with one of contentment when he let Trinity into his life.

But now she was gone, and so was his contentment.

I shook my head slightly, my disappointment in him as clear as day. I knew him better than anyone, even better than Trinity, although she didn't know that. She thought I'd never heard of Louis Tomlinson. Little did she know, I'd known him since the day I was born, and knew every single one of his little (or not-so-little) secrets.

I hadn't spoken to Louis since the day their relationship had effectively ended; the day he had asked me to keep an eye on Trinity, and a thought occured to me. Trinity had told him she was going to stay with her mum, even though she was coming to my apartment. However, I hadn't told him that she was staying with me, which meant he thought that she really was in her mum's house.

I thought about telling him, but a wicked smile threatened to spread across my face as I decided against it. Thinking that Trinity was at her mum's would make make him feel guilty and worried. If I told him she was staying with me, it would bring him relief. Relief that he didn't deserve. After putting Trinity through all of this, the last thing he deserved was relief. He deserved the worry and guilt, so I kept my mouth shut.

"So help me God, Louis," I threatened, my teeth clenched together, "If she's run off somewhere and I can't find her, I will personally hunt you down and shove-,"

"You won't have any problems with that," Louis interrupted me, his eyes focused on something in the distance, a steely look crossing his face as his blue eyes were filled with a mixture of hard-to-read emotions, "She's over there."

I was puzzled for a second, but as I turned to look where Louis' gaze had been transfixed, I immediately saw what he meant. Sure enough, there was Trinity, standing next to a tall, brown-haired guy.

However, if I was in disbelief then, I was in absolute shock when my eyes took in what she did next.

*Trinity's PoV*

I wasn't exactly sure what I was going to do, but I knew I needed to do something. I glanced around urgently, searching desperately for anything I could use as a weapon against Louis' feelings. My eyes scanned the area I was standing in. To my left, there were clothes rails and a few quiet shoppers, nothing out of the ordinary. I looked to my right, where there were the cashier's desks - again, nothing I could see that could help me get back at Louis. Behind me was a wall, so that wasn't going to be very much use.

Then, a thought occured to me:
If I wanted to get back at Louis, I needed to make sure he would see whatever I was going to do. There was no point in doing something that would go completely unnoticed by him, for it would have no effect.

That meant that I needed to go out into the middle of the shopping centre, make sure I was in his direct line of sight. I turned my head to tell Chloe what I was going to do, but she had vanished. She was nowhere in my vision, so I shrugged my shoulders to myself and took in a long, jagged breath before kicking my plan off.

I wandered into the middle of the main aisle of the shopping centre, keeping an eye on Louis and his female companion. My gaze dropped slightly to the side of him and I saw that Chloe was standing next to him. It never really occured to me at this time that there should have been something strange about that - I mean, she didn't even know that Louis was the guy I had been 'dating', if you could even call it that, so why was she talking to him then?

Of course, I was so wrapped up in the moment that it never really clicked that there might have been something deeper going on with the situation. Regardless, fumbled with my hands as I thought about something I could do. I tried to avoid the one prevalent thought that kept popping up, because, though I wanted to get back at Louis, I didn't particularly want to go to that extreme of measures. However, as seconds passed by and I became increasingly aware that Louis might leave and Chloe might come looking for me any second, and no other thoughts struck me, I figured that it was the only thing I could do.

I spotted a tall, muscular guy a few steps away, who had his back turned away from me. I couldn't see what he looked like from this angle, but I didn't really care. I only needed him for one sole purplose, I didn't really care what his face looked like.

I calmed myself and ignored the unusual forboding feeling that I could feel simmering in the pit of my stomach, before ambling cautiously over to the figure, like a lion stalking it's prey. Just as I was about a foot away, I took a quiet breath, tapped the stranger on the shoulder, and waited for him to turn around.

As soon as he did, I screwed my eyes hut, grabbed him by the collar of his Polo T-shirt and kissed him. I held him there for a few seconds before releasing his from my predator-like grip, exhaling and once again trying to suppress the feeling of forboding that lay at the bottom of my stomach.

However, as I opened my eyes, I soon realised that perhaps I should have listened to the feeling in my stomach after all. There, standing in front of me, was a furrow-browed, out of breath and very confused-looking Greg.

And there, standing a few metres to my left, was a furrow-browed, cold-eyed and very angry-looking Louis.
