Chapter 10

Lilly

When I get home later that day, I call Liza.

"Hey Lilly! what's going on? Haven't heard from you in awhile."
"Girl, I know. But we have a real crisis here!"
"Spill." The intensity of her voice made me laugh.

So I tell her everything that's been going on between Dominic & I, including last night.

"Ok, so if you like him, and he likes you, why aren't y'all dating yet?" She concluded.
"Because I'm scared of commitment," I admitted.
"Gotcha."
"So what do you think I should do?" I was getting worried.
"Have one of those honest talks, almost like therapy but not. Just be honest with each other," she suggested.
"Do you think it'll work?
"The most important thing in a relationship is honesty. David & I have these talks every once in awhile."
"True. Speaking of David, how is he? How are you guys doing?"
"Oh, we're good. Listen, I gotta go."
"Ok, girl, thanks for the advice. It was good talking to you."
"Same, girl! Bye!"
"Bye, boo!"

Next, I call Nata. I retell the exact same story and Nata gives me the exact same advice. Finally, I take Liza's & Nata's advice and call Dom.

"Hey, Lilly," his deep, sultry voice vibrated through the phone.
"Hey, Dom. Listen, I was wondering if we could talk about us."
"Well, what exactly do you want to know? Isn't it already perfectly clear?"
I could hardly refrain from rolling my eyes.

"If it was crystal clear, I wouldn't be asking. So I wanted to know if there's a chance for us, and if you maybe have feelings for me?"

"What kind of question is that? Of course there's a chance for us, only if you want there to be an us. And I like you for you, not because you're beautiful, which you are, not because I wanna fuck you, but because you're perfect just the way you are. I don't care if you dress up like a man on Mondays, and drink on Tuesdays. I want you for you. I just need to know if you have feelings for me at all," he exhaled.

"I'd be lying if I said no. I do have feelings for you. And those kisses that we shared when we were shooting, and when we weren't shooting, they really mean a lot to me. I used to deny it, but now I can't hide it anymore."

And they I say the words that neither of us expected to hear...
