Chapter Nineteen-He's Got My Phone Number And Address

I laid on my bed, completely bored. I had nothing to do. No homework at all since it was Friday. Greenwood teachers rarely ever gave homework on Fridays. You'd get the occasional one who'd give it to you, just to piss you off but other than that, nothing.

My cell phone vibrated in my pocket as the ringtone blasted through the speaker.

I winced before pulling it out and answering it.

"Hello?" I asked tiredly.

"Mrs. Colmes, always nice to hear a familiar voice."

I screamed and threw my phone across the room as I sat straight up in my bed.

How the hell had he gotten my number?

I waited a few seconds before going over to the phone and picking it up.

"Hello?" I tested.

"Are you done trying to bust my eardrums?" He asked, slightly annoyed.

I jumped and hit the "end" button.

I flung the phone on my bed and starred at it.

Cassius Jackson had my phone number and I didn't know how. The only people who have my number are...Claire and Anna.

I narrowed my eyes at my phone and picked it up, dialing Claire's number.

I tapped my foot against the wood floor as I rested my hand on my hip.

"Mrs. Popular speaking." She answered the phone.

"You are so busted!" I snapped through the phone.

"Excuse me?" She said in confusion.

"Why did you give your brother my number?" I growled.

"What on earth are you talking about?" She asked.

"Cassius just called me and I sure as hell never gave him my number!" I told her.

"Well I never gave..." She trailed off.

"That jerk! He went into my room and perused through my phone!" She shouted and I shot the phone away from my ear, wincing.

"Damn you Cassius!" I heard her scream.

"Anyway, I'll talk to you later when you're a little more...calm." I said and turned my phone off.

Just as I was about to lay my phone down on my side table, it rang again.

I sighed. Now who was calling me?

"Hello?" I answered.

"That was very rude." He said.

"Yeah well going through your sister's phone to get my number is rude. And makes you seem desperate. Am I that attractive that you can't even wait a whole night to hear my voice?" I joked through the phone.

"I am not desperate, nor am I attracted to you. I just wanted to ask you to dinner as...friends." He answered.

"Dinner? With you?" I asked skeptically.

"Yes, dinner, is there a problem?" He questioned.

I smirked.

"No, not at all. Pick me up at 6." I told him and he laughed.

"You think I'm picking you up? Sorry, I have to pick up Summer." He said before hanging up and my mouth dropped open.

I am not going anywhere near Summer. Does he not understand that we don't like each other?

I called him back but he never answered.

"I'm not going to dinner with you and certainly not while Summer is going." I left him a voicemail.

A horn honked outside my house and I scowled. Who is here at eight o'clock at night?

"I've got it!" My mother called.

I heard her open the door and a deep voice reply when she said hello.

"Leah, it's for you!" My mother called.

What?

She walked in the living room and stopped me before I left.

"Who is that boy at my door?" She asked with a stern expression.

"I have no idea what your talking about. I never invited a boy over here." I shook my head.

"Well, good thing he's handsome." She raised her eyebrows in that weird jerky motion.

"Ew, mom." I scrunched my face and hurriedly walked to the door.

"Eager to seem me, are we?" Cassius' voice filtered the room and I stopped dead in my tracks.

I don't know who I was expecting but it wasn't him.

"What are doing here?" I asked, crossing my arms.

This time I was further away from Cassius so it didn't worry me much that my boobs had gotten "bigger".

"I came to pick you up for dinner." He said.

"It's eight o'clock. I ate dinner two hours ago." I told him as I gave him a crazy look.

"Well, then come out with me for coffee?" He asked.

"She'd love to go. Leah, why don't you go change?" My mom jumped in.

"Hey, this my decision not yours!" I turned and scowled at her.

She gave me a stern look and I threw my hands in the air.

"Fine!" I gave up.

But maybe, this wouldn't be so bad.

After I threw on a pair of black jeans and a tank top with a white wool coat, I walked down stairs. I flung my hair up into a pony tail and headed out the door.

My mother was talking to Cassius as I stood by his car door and I cursed quietly.

"Just my luck. He has my number and my address. How did he get it anyway? No one's even come over to my house." I rubbed my hands together as I got impatient.

"Oh my god, stop talking and hurry it up!" I yelled at Cassius.

He smiled at my mother, his signature smile unfortunately, and I'm going to pretend I didn't see my mother swoon.

"You can't even wait two minutes to see me. You want to have sex now? The back seat?" He asked and I clenched my teeth together.

"Unlock the damn door and shut the hell up. You're the one showing up at my door and I haven't given my address to a single person in this town. So you're the one who can't wait to see me." I growled.

We got in the car and he put the key in the ignition, starting the car.

"Alright, I'm sorry. I'll stop if you actually pretend you enjoy my company." He looked at me.

I raised my eyebrows.

"Swear?" I asked.

"Swear." He answered, holding his hand out.

"Deal." I shook his hand.

"So, about this game, when are we going to start playing it so I can take you down?" He asked.

"It started in that lunch place." I replied.

"Really? Cause you've been avoiding me all week and that doesn't seem like you're making me fall in love with you." He said.

"Well you exactly haven't been that pleasant." I told him.

"I never agreed to playing easy and don't get your hopes up because I'm going to make it as hard for you as possible." He smirked, turning into a parking lot.

"How about we start tomorrow morning?" I offered.

"We'll start tomorrow." He settled it.
