LUKE POV

Ashton came over and sat down in the chair next to me.

"Got enough food?" He asked slapping me on the back. My mouth was full so all I could do was grunt and pull a face in reply.

"Guys, I have a problem." Ash said as he put the palms of his hands on the table. I swallowed my mouth full just as Calum's half eaten apple rolled off the table top. Ashton's face was drawn in confusion.

"What's wrong.." Michael yawned as he put his head into his hands.

"Well you know how we tried too book the corner pub for our gig on Saturday? Well........ They rejected our request because we're all underage and they serve alcohol during our performing time......" He trailed off an annoyed expression etched into his face.

"Awwwww man. I was getting excited for that gig." Calum whined.

"I have a back up plan though." Ashton added as he stole the remaining cake from Calum's recess tray.

"Hey, I was gonna eat that!!" Calum said swiping at the cake Ashton now had in his hands.

"We got a gig at the Lounge Cafe. You know, the new modernised one in the Main Street?" Ashton said through a mouthful of cake.

"Aw man yes!!! That place has the best sandwiches!!" I said giving Ashton a slap on the back. His mouth was full of Calum's chocolate cake. As he swallowed his face begun turning red, a sharp cough escaped his mouth and a gasping insult followed.

"Thanks man." I said slapping him on the back as he began breathing normally again. Slowly the red left his cheeks and a grin spread across his mouth.

"Your welcome." He wheezed.

"This is it guys. Our first gig!! To actual people!! Not related too us!!" Calum yelled as he began dancing around the table like a total idiot. I smiled inwardly. I was hoping they all didn't have high expectations. This was only the beginning.

END POV

I was sitting just talking to Mikaela, Claudia and Stef when an eruption of noise sounded from the table to the left of us. I looked over to see who had made the noise. It was then when everything came crashing down around me. Sitting, literally a meter away was Luke, Calum and two guys I had never actually spoken too. One I recognised from English but the other I didn't know. He looked a little bit older then the other three. Maybe he was in year level above.....?

I was only able to catch a snippet of what they'd said. It was something about "Our first gig." The rest of Calum's sentence was drowned out into the distance by a shrill sounding bell. That, I assumed, signalled the end of break.

After recess I had a double lesson of Music. Uh, Music. I had been told at my old school by pretty much the entire student body that I was musically challenged. I honestly didn't care if I was bad at music. So what? Don't get me wrong I love, love listening to music. I just don't see the point of counting how many beats there are in a bar. Let someone who actually cares do that. That someone is definitely not me.

I had Stef in my music class. Fortunately for her she actually enjoyed music. Unlike me. I was forced into the class because I had a spare elective spot and all the subjects I actually WANTED to do where full. So it pretty much sucked to be me.

Stef's locker was conveniently located only a couple of locker spaces up from mine. We walked to our bank together chatting about life. I know right, so deep. She was telling me about this mysterious band within the school that could be heard playing constantly. Yet, there was a twist. Their rehearsal room was windowless and always locked. So no one knew who they where. I know, mysterious right.
