LUKE POV
After Bailey left her words made an impact. The realisation of what she said hit me in a wave of fury and hopelessness. "Forget we ever met." The look on her face remained in my mind as she disappeared into the parking lot.
"Shit." I muttered as I scratched my head. Michael and Calum came running out of the building on cue. It was almost as if they'd been waiting behind the glass doors. A look of guilt danced over both their faces as they came closer.
"You heard didn't you." It was kind of a back handed question, one I already knew the answer too.
"Yeah mate." Michael said as he awkwardly slapped me on the back. Calum just stood there, becoming incredibly interested in the concrete footpath. Soon an awkward silence blossomed between the three of us, no one was game enough to break it.
I didn't feel like talking, so instead I just kicked my black vans into the concrete, angrily scuffing the toe.
"Luke your gonna wreck your shoes!!" Ashton yelled as he ran towards us out of the shopping centre. His hazel eyes where bright and a warm flush coloured his cheeks. He soon slowed and the smile on his mouth vanished.
"Didn't go too well I guess." Ashton's voice lost all the enthusiasm and warmth from before. His voice was quiet, almost as if the volume would effect my response.
"No shit Sherlock Holmes." I snapped back.
Ashton's eyes joined Calum's falling to the concrete as he stuffed his hands into the pockets of his jea
ns. The silence then returned.
No one spoke for a few minutes. All you could hear was the faint buzzing of street lamps and the low, rumbling engines from passing cars.
"Well I'm going home." I muttered to the others. I didn't wait for a response, leaving before anyone could convince me to stay. I was annoyed, frustrated and confused. Why couldn't she just hear me out?
END POV
BAILEY POV
I walked as quickly as I could to get away from him. My feet moved at an almost painfully quick speed. I shook my head as I replayed what had just happened, my words where harsh, but at least he got the message. We barely knew each other, Luke can't just assume ill say "yes, I forgive you" we weren't going out so it didn't matter. That's where I stand, I'm not forgiving him because I don't actually need too. He can do whatever he likes, kiss whoever he wants.
I pulled my jacket tighter around my body as I felt both the figurative and literal cold seep into my skin. Waiting for mum in the dark was one problem, being alone and confused was another, I was feeling both. I felt my phone buzz in my pocket, making me jump slightly. I was appreciative of the distraction, I was praying it wasn't Luke as I drew my phone out of my pockets. The screens light illuminated the darkness around me. The time read 5:55pm. Below the time was a text message from Mum.
Mum. Good.
