I stood watching the song. The bands skill was amazing. Ashton was like an animal on the drums and Michael, Luke and Calum played in perfect sync. The song was almost ending. I could tell by the way Ashton was decreasing the volume on his drums.

Calum and Michael stopped singing and playing. But Luke continued. His voice was low and deep. A strong transition from the chorus before. Once again his blue eyes picked me out in the crowd. His eyes found mine and I refused to look away as he sung the words.

"But it's almost over,

let's start over."

A guitar riff completed the song. Clapping erupted from the audience. The sound rang in my ears and the memory of Luke singing burned itself into my mind. The sound echoed through my ears.

I'd had enough. I turned to leave as 5 Seconds of Summer broke out into their second song. A Blink 182 cover. My shift had ended while I was watching the band preform. No new customers needed my assistance and my boss said I could leave. After I loaded the dishwasher and delivered one last round of orders to the chef I was ready to leave. Something was different when I walked out of the back room.

I could no longer hear the sound of singing or the soft strumming of guitars. Everything had returned to normal. Soft chatter and the clang of knives and forks was all that could be heard. I grabbed my bag from behind the counter and left. As I approached the door a girl with dark, lightly dip-dyed hair stood in the way.

"Hi." She smiled.

"I was just wondering where 5 Seconds of Summer where?" Her brown eyes begun searching around the room.

"I'm Lizzie by the way." She added.

"Bailey." I replied. Lizzie focused back into my words.

"Oh are you the Bailey that Claudia has been talking about? Do you go to West-Sydney College?" Lizzie was wanting a chat but all I wanted to do was leave. If I ran into Luke again I would possibly throw a fit. I felt bad because she was being really nice and I was being a rude bitch. I decided to continue talking to Lizzie and make up some excuse if Luke came along.

"I also go there!!!Lizzie continued. "I met Claudia, Mikaela and Stef in year 7 and have hung out with them ever since. I was away last week so I didn't get a chance to meet you!!!" Her bubbly personality was infectious making it hard for me to leave the conversation. I replied as happily as possible.

"Oh yeah!! You didn't miss much last week."

"Nothing much happened." I smiled back.

"So where are the boys?" She asked as she begun walking towards the courtyard. I didn't follow.

"Are you coming or not?" She turned, her dark eyes held a look of confusion. I rolled my eyes, sighed inwardly and followed closely behind. As I rounded the corner I saw the sight I'd rather not see. The boys still hadn't left. Damn.

Luke, was zipping his guitar back into a black case and Michael had his arms wrapped round Lizzie's middle.

Right, they must be a thing. I thought to myself.

Calum was on the phone to someone. His shoulders where bent and he was pacing the length of the room. A look of confusion furrowed his brow. Ashton was busy taking apart his drum kit. He had about half of his drums zipped into bags and the other half where still out, lying in a circle beside their corresponding cases. Standing not far away from Ashton stood an extremely short blonde headed girl. She was dressed in a skin tight skirt and lacy singlet top. I assumed she was Ashton's girlfriend. This surprised me though, she just didn't seem like his type. I was obviously wrong.

ASHTON POV.

I was strategically zipping my drums into their corresponding cases when Tina, my girlfriend, came into the room. A tight, false smile stretched across my lips. I didn't move and continued packing up.

"That's it?" She demanded coming closer. Her falseness was reflected even more by her voice and bleached blonde hair. She disgusted me. I couldn't even remember how I'd asked her out in the first place. I've wanted to call it off for ages.

The words had been on my tongue several times. However, they often enough stayed unspoken. But today the words where there and ready to come out.

She ruffled my hair with her grossly, perfect manicured nails. I almost shuddered in revolution.

"Ashton. I'm talking too you." She demanded again. I got a look from Luke on the other side of the room. It was a mix between "I'm sorry man" and "your a total idiot."

I stood up, off the floor, wiping my slightly sweaty palms onto my jeans.

"Look Tina. I've had enough. We're over."

It was done, just like that. Pathetic tears formed in her eyes.

"What?" She blubbered as the tears began too flow down her cheeks.

"Your a mess, annoying and I've had enough. Just look at yourself." I said laughing and pointing a finger at her face. That might have been a bit mean, but it felt so good.

An instant weight lifted off my shoulders. As Tina left the room in a huff a smile spread across my face.

"Well that made my day a whole lot more interesting." Calum said hanging up his phone.

"So what caused this too happen?" Calum asked. I turned to face him jamming my hands into the pockets of my jeans.

"It's Mikaela isn't it?" Calum asked wiggling his eyebrows in suggestion. I could feel heat rising in my cheeks. I was hoping he didn't notice.

"Yeah." I muttered sheepishly. I couldn't deny it. The heat in my cheeks and the grin on my face spoke louder than words.

END POV.

I tried to blend slowly back out of the room. It didn't work very well. All of the attention was pulled in my direction when Ashton's, now presumably ex-girlfriend ran past crying.

Just as I moved to leave Luke stood up from zipping his guitar away. He saw me leaving and began walking over.

"Did you like it?" He asked swaying back onto his heels.

"Well you definitely surprised me." I said with a neutral tone that could have been interpreted in many different ways. Yes, I know, how mean of me.

"Surprised good or surprised bad?" Luke grinned back. His blue eyes where full of energy.

"Haven't decided yet." I repiled. As soon as I said the words I saw the energy behind his blue eyes die.

"Well, tell me when you have made up your mind." Luke's voice was just as expressionless.

As he turned to leave he pressed a guitar pic into the palm of my hand. His touch was soft, sending a tingle through my fingers.

As I left the Cafe I turned the pic over in my palm. The edges of the white plastic triangle had been worn down. It had obviously been used quite a few times before. I flipped the pic over to look at the under side. There, written in a small black pen were two words.

Start over?

written around the edges of the triangle was a phone number.
