It was midnight and Evie hadn't slept a wink. Deciding that she didn't want to wake up her mom, Evie got out of bed and put on her sweater.
Walking aimlessly through the streets, she really didn't want to go anywhere, just keep walking. she told herself. That's exactly what she did.
It was half past midnight, when Zelena heard footsteps from the driveway, instinctively she opened the front door to see a broken Evie walking towards the door head down. Zelena stares at her niece for a moment before stating, "Come inside, I'll make you some tea, then you can tell me what's wrong."
Evie lifted her head with a confused look in her face she asks, "How did I get here?"
Zelena shrugs, "Come on in."
Evie looked at her aunt suspiciously.
Zelena frowns as if reading her niece's mind, "You can stay out here in the dark cold night or you can come in the house where its warm. Your choice?"
Evie was cold and tired all she wanted to do was to talk to somebody that has been where she is. And though she doubted that Zelena understood her, Evie still enters the house.
She sat down on the couch hugging one of the green pillows.
Zelena goes to her kitchen and makes tea, "You okay?"
Evie shook her head, her blue hair falling to her face.
Zelena walked back in the living room and placed the tray on the coffee table. "Evie, what happened?"
Evie stayed silent, she didn't know where to start.
"Evie," Zelena held Evie's hands, "you need to tell me what happened, if I am to help."
"I... I..." Evie stuttered, "I killed the evil queen!"
"Oh honey!" Zelena put her arm around Evie's shoulders.
Evie put her head on Zelena's shoulder. "Are you..."
"No, I'm not okay!" Evie screamed, "I'm not. I'm so confused. I try to be the perfect daughter, but you know what? I'm not. Mom never wanted me that's why she sent me to Auradon Prep."
"Keep your voice down, you'll wake Robyn." Zelena scolds.
Evie's phone started ringing, "Mom." Evie sighed, "Ignore."
Zelena grabs the phone, "Call her."
"What?" Evie shocked, "Why?"
"Regina is still your mother," Zelena handed back the phone, "she's worried. You aren't in your room at 1 in the morning, there are just so little scenarios that could come to her mind. Call her."
"Fine." Evie sighs, "I'll text her."
"Read it to me." Zelena wanted to make sure that the message has a clear message and wouldn't send Regina on a rampage.
Evie put the phone eye level and read, "Mom, I'm fine."
Zelena frowns, "Tell her where you are and that you'll be home soon."
"Why?" Evie asked.
Zelena sighed, "Evie..."
"Fine, fine." Evie started typing. "Here?" holding up her phone.
Zelena nods.
"Good." Evie huffs, "And send!"
Robyn started crying.
"You done it, now!" Zelena glares at her niece before walking towards the nursery.
Evie said, "Sorry!"
Zelena went back to the living room with her daughter in her arms.
"I should go." Evie stood up.
"No, no," Zelena shook her head, as she sat down, "it would be unsafe for a young woman, such as yourself to go out at this hour. You will spend the night here."
"You do know that I have magic, right?" Evie asked.
"I am well aware of that fact." Zelena retorts, "It is still dangerous to be out. I'll take you to your mom at nine. Ok?"
Evie glares at her aunt before sitting back down, "Ok."
