Carlos POV

It was a month after the whole fight broke out and I haven't seen or heard from Mal. I was getting really worried. Each time Evie walks in the diner she asked about Mal and I have no answer. Jay and I work at the inn of course but forbidden to enter Mal and Lily's room.

One day Mal sent a text, the first one since she broke up with Ben. "Granny?" I called, "I'm going to take my break."

I ran out to find Evie looking at her phone coming towards me and Jay on the other side also starring at his phone.

"Mal?" I asked.

"Yeah, she texted me." Jay replied.

"Me too." Evie nodded.

"A poem?" I questioned, "Mal, doesn't write poetry!"

"She sent me a picture." Evie showed us, "Of a ring."

"A sculpture of a woman?" Jay squinted.

"That's Aphrodite!" Evie gasped, "We have to go, now!"

We ran to the dock. Emma looked at us, "Where's the fire?"

Evie replied breathlessly, "Mal... spell... Aphrodite..."

"Mal!" I yelled when I noticed her in the edge of the dock. One hand clutching a piece of paper, the other formed a fist. She looked at me with a stoic expression.

All four of us ran towards her. Emma turned to Evie, "What's going on?!"

"She's going to summon Aphrodite." Evie explained while running.

"Wait!" Emma stopped abruptly.

Evie stopped, "What?!"

"Aphrodite?" Emma questioned, "The goddess of love? She's real too?"

Evie ignored the question and continued running with Jay right behind her. I followed far behind and turned to Emma, "Run now, talk later."

The dock was 20 feet long. "Mal!" Evie calls, "Don't do this!"

"I'm sorry, Evie," Mal cried, "its too much!"

"It hurts," Emma sighed, "love hurts. Its too painful to bare, I know, but it doesn't mean you give up on love completely."

Mal yells, "Easy for you to say. You're the savior. A hero. Daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. I'm the daughter of Malificient. A villain. I'm destined to get hurt. Defeated."

I looked at Mal, "Our parents were also villains you don't see us giving up."

"Mal!" a desperate voice calls. It was Lily, "This town is a filled with new opportunities for the both of us. Please don't leave."

Mal opened her fist and Ben's ring fell off. She ran to her sister's arms and cried.
